Tonight, the recorded voice of Sir Winston Churchill is paired with the London Symphony Orchestra's performance of Nimrod from English composer Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations.

From a Globe & Mail editorial:

Suddenly, we've been hit with the temptation to say Quiet, Justin. The adults are talking.

Majority of Americans want flights banned from Ebola countries, survey finds

https://ca.news.yahoo.com/ebola-flights-americans-survey-121940913.html

Some colleagues from an "ebola country" today informed me that their visas are delayed due to ebola. I don't know whether to believe them, but eh - there it is.

Oh and go jump in a bark mulcher ya rooskie toolbox.

“By the end of the year, there’s supposed to be 1.4 million people infected with Ebola and 62 percent of them dying, according to the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention],” Marine Corps Gen. John F. Kelly said. “That’s horrific. And there is no way we can keep Ebola [contained] in West Africa.”

If it comes to the Western Hemisphere, many countries have little ability to deal with an outbreak of the disease, “So, much like West Africa, it will rage for a period of time,” Kelly said.

This is a particularly possible scenario if the disease gets to Haiti or Central America. If the disease gets to countries like Guatemala, Honduras or El Salvador, it will cause a panic and people will flee the region, the general said.

“If it breaks out, ... there will be mass migration into the United States,” ... “They will run away from Ebola, or if they suspect they are infected, they will try to get to the United States for treatment.”

Majority of Americans want flights banned from Ebola countries, survey finds.John Galt

The CDC is incompetent or deliberately lying about EBOLA and our medical systems ability to control EBOLA. Every American is at risk when the only option is to die "in isolation"

1. The Emergency Room personnel in the USA do not ask invasive questions of patients seeking treatment. It's part of the LAW that insures that all patients are entitled to treatment and that Law would have to be changed such that the front desk procedures catch EBOLA in the medical system.(it's not a simple matter)

Now a patient with EBOLA would have to be proactive (I think I have Ebola) or they may not be diagnosed by the Doctor.

2. The CDC claims that Zmapp does not exist, that is not true the WHO has been promised the "existing" supply in storage in WPG Canada. Zmapp exists with a yet secret plan!

3. What is the plan the UN controlled WHO has for the antidote Zmapp... only the UN/EU Brussels leaders.

4. The patient who died in Dallas never got Zmapp, that suggests that all American patients will not get Zmapp.

If you trust fools you are the biggest fool

You're right, the US is not prepared:

Federal officials plan to implement the new screening regime at New York's Kennedy International, Washington D.C.'s Dulles, Chicago's O'Hare, Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta, and Newark's Liberty International.

But a new report by a Customs agent at Newark's Liberty Airport says they are not ready at all if Ebola happens to show up in New Jersey.

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/10/08/New-Jersey-Customs-Agent-We-re-Not-Prepared-for-Ebola

Nor is Canada:
A Toronto researcher who studies the global spread of infectious diseases says Canada's plan to beef up entry screening of passengers coming from West Africa may make people feel safer, but is unlikely to produce much in the way of results.

If I was a rich man.

I wouldn't have to go around the country begging for money from other rich men.

EBD: Re: Justin Trudeau and his childish rhetoric.

Shhhhhhhht! He's working so hard at getting Mr. Harper elected, we don't want to make waves!!

I'm anxious to see next week's polls!

This week during the ISIS debate, the Libs had to bring Marc Garneau into the discussions in order to avoid embarrassment by their poster boy! How bad can it get??

Actually--Trudeau should have been the astronaut! He's spaced out, and on the moon most of the time!

Socialism always works great until you run out of other peoples money.

I guess that by extension Dem billionaires are alright.

EBD, we desperately need a Churchill now, as now we have nothing but limp wristed Frankfurt School graduates.

If Churchill were alive today...they'd kill him before he got anywhere near power.
I really miss Andrew Breitbart.

You really gotta fix this...

My method is to always save my comment and then just put a "1" in the Captcha and hit preview until I get some clearly readable text that I can reliably type in. Sometimes it's once, sometimes it takes more than a few attempts. Hope that helps.

Seems the media has its knickers in a knot over political parties using "their" content for political ads. The content in question are interviews where a politician makes an ass of themselves and its recorded for posterity. This apparently counts as intellectual property because they happened to be present when the gaffe is made.
Coincidentally, there currently appears to be only one federal party having problems finding complimentary video clips of their leader.

If you're going to give welfare to dairy farmers, ya may as well give a good chunk of it to the ones living in the Opposition Party's Ag Critic's riding. By the way, he is also a dairy farmer.

There WILL be mass migration into the US? Where has this guy been for the past year? Why the future tense?

Passenger flights should be banned to and from ebola infected countries. Taking their temperatures is next to useless and taking their word as not having been in contact with an infected person is no better.

Do the airline cleaners use special gear when cleaning the planes? Do we know all there is to know re the spread the deadly disease?

Many Liberals will be over the moon if their front-man gets elected. They will be back with their hands in the cookie jar.

Coach - the captcha seems to be time limited. If you read all of the comments, and write a thought-out response, you'll usually get a time-out. Instead of clicking "Submit", click "Preview". This not only gives you a new captcha but, more importantly, it saves your comments while resetting the timer.

Marc Garneau is any better when he can sit behind Trudeau, the latest Liberal Tool? I heard him say they'd vote against the motion but would then support it, support the troops. Garneau would be smart to run, run fast from the gong show the LPC is putting on. The NDP are the NDP, no surprises there.

"Passenger flights should be banned to and from ebola infected countries" Liz J

But the optics would be terrible because we are sending troops to Africa to herd the Sick into "Isolation areas" such that they will die without contacting others. If we shut off all flights the UN/WHO could not make the case that armed US troops are necessary.

Only an Non-American would think American troops would herd helpless people into dying clusters. It's un-American and an unlawful order by the Kenyan president

Why are new phrases being constantly made for words that already exist? "Isolation areas" for quarantine is the newest. Liz J, as usual, is bang on about flight bans. There should be quarantines as well. Pseudo "human rights" are being cited for the reason not to do exactly what should be done before an epidemic breaks out. If this would have happened from the word "go" it wouldn't have become a global problem. I know most reasonable people would agree. That's not "un-American", it's doing what was needed and should have be done. As usual Obama is leading from behind.

Well, at least that one got through.

"Public Health Emergency Declared In Connecticut Over Ebola: Civil Rights Suspended Indefinitely"

"We warned a week ago of the various possibilities surrounding an Ebola outbreak in America, and today we get some degree of confirmation of a medical-based martial-law coming to the US.

Governor Dan Malloy has declared a Public Health Emergency in Connecticut, authorizing the "isolation of any individual reasonably believed to have been exposed to the Ebola virus." Simply put, as we noted previously, the State of Public Health Emergency allows bureaucrats to detain and force-vaccinate people without due process - despite not one single case being found in CT. If there is a major Ebola pandemic in America, all of the liberties and the freedoms that you currently enjoy would be gone."

"Union boss Sid Ryan accused of threatening and intimidating employees

The conduct of a top trade union boss is being called into question by an Ontario union, citing allegations of threats, intimidation and reprisal against employees.

Sid Ryan, President of the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) which represents 54 unions and one million workers in the province, is being accused of violating the Ontario Labour Relations Act by the Canadian Office and Professional Employees Local 343 (COPE).

The labour practice complaint was filed with the Ontario Labour Relations Board this week.

The unfair labour practice documentation, obtained by Sun News Network, alleges Ryan violated the Labour Relations Act by "threatening and intimidating employees".

It calls on Ryan to "rescind all discipline administered to employees", "refrain from interfering with and undermining the operation of the trade union" and "insure all the dues, etc deducted from employees be remitted to the union as required."

Ryan did not respond to a request for comment on the allegations, which have yet to be tested before the Labour Board."

DO NOT PANIC. Ebola is harmless and VERY HARD to get. That's why a plane was boarded by two guys wearing hazmat suits.

You can avoid the frustrating 'captcha' nonsense by using the "Sign In" function.

There WILL be mass migration into the US? Where has this guy been for the past year? Why the future tense? Posted by: Robert of Ottawa

I interpreted this in the context of his Ebola warning. An Ebola scare in Central/South America will increase the flood of illegals to unprecedented numbers.

He may also be parroting the 'official WH policy' of denying the increased number of illegals in the past year. As a top level military person he is restricted by law to what he is allowed to say. Criticizing the CIC can be a court marshal offense.

Exactly. Harper and crew should continue encouraging him to "whip it out" and step on it, like he did recently over the F-18s. Give an idiot enough rope and he'll hang himself.

Any time I've had trouble with the Captcha, it's been a block of letters that I've seen earlier in the session. I just save my message and re-load the thread. I've never been unable to post.
