Where the NYT plays the Get Hillary Out Of The Iraq War Vote card: The Secret Casualties of Iraq's Abandoned Chemical Weapons

(That phrase... it's like I've heard it somewhere before.)

So, according to the leftist scum George Bush lied about WMDs? Most of us here have known Hussein had nerve and other poisonous artillery shells, and who knows maybe other stuff since before the war to oust Hussein even began. The Kurds and Iranians knew Hussein had WMDs.

My fave thing about 9-11 truthers.... Bush planned 9-11...OK.... but too dumb to hide some Chemical weapons in Iraq? Frame whatshisname? Smart enough to take down world trade center but not smart enough to be the bestest everest Prez ever after?

Nuke the middle east already. There was a post here(maybe) about 4 or 5 years ago.... about when the idiots somehow get a couple nuclear weapons and use them... then the true power of western might reigns down on the entire region...

Just do it already. Turn that part of the world into Japan and Germany of this century.

New here Rick?

Most of us will mention an error but in a polite fashion.
Kate is responsible for giving us this highly read and acclaimed blog.
All while receiving no remuneration. Untold hours and days of work to allow us the pleasure of SDA.

Snippy and snide remarks are not needed. Try rabble, rude, spelling nazi's are welcome there.

“I felt more like a guinea pig than a wounded soldier,” said a former Army sergeant who suffered mustard burns in 2007 and was denied hospital treatment and medical evacuation to the United States despite requests from his commander."

This contemptuous treatment of both active duty personnel and returned vets tells us exactly who we are dealing with in the upper power structure. In war they view them as useful idiots and cannon fodder, if they survive to come home they are branded potential terrorists. GI Joe is now just a political pawn for degenerate super class interests. I'm wondering why the segment of the non-politicized military even defends the interests of the political cabal in Washington.

Prediction; the military will play a large role in removing the crooks and posers in Washington and restoring a constitutional government.

There were no WMDs but US soldiers were injured by them.

We call this cognitive dissonance.

Wasn't the Obama administration describing these same chemicals as WMD's as his earlier red line pretext for an invasion of Syria. The lefties at the NYTimes are trying to shift the goal post now by suggesting that Bush still lied because the WMD's in possession of Saddam were not part of an "active WMD weapons programs thus nullifying the reason to invade, so the lie still stands because Bush said Saddam had an active WMD weapons program. It seems to the irrational Liberal mind, if you build and store it, they will not come.

Oh you found to old junk ... Well yeah the new stuff all went to Syria. I remember listening to some American general talk about watching truck after truck after truck leave Iraq heading for Syria carrying what he said were WMDs and the equipment to make more. This was before the American invasion took place.

doowleb, hear, hear!

Yeah Joe, that was done in the several months it took Bush to build his coalition. Convoys were streaming out of Iraq full of who knows what. My guess is they weren't full of aid packages.

It is curious isn't?
If past history is any indication; when a military uses a weapon and achieves good results such as was the case against the Kurds they normally don't just set it aside. It would be NYT naive to think Iraq would be any different?

Isn't it amazing how the NY Slimes manages to make some kind of ugly military secret out of finding something George Bush wouldn't shut up about for years?

And gee, wasn't most of the veil of darkness dropped on this post 2008? Because I remember hearing reports of them finding this stuff pre-2008 but not much after that.

And wow, isn't is so interesting that the NY Slimes is all concerned about ISIS getting control over these weapons that BUSH LIED about existing? Almost as if... I don't know if I can even say this... almost as if Bush wasn't lying! Aiee!

My contempt for these news creatures only grows. Against my conviction that they've sunk so far they hit bedrock, they manage to sink lower. They look up at the bellies of sewer roaches high above. Snakes in wagon ruts are miles upward from there. But they keep digging.

With any luck they'll hit a magma pocket and be immolated.

'I felt a great disturbance in the narrative' ranks up there in the journalistic (Please forgive me, Kate) stratosphere alongside 'Allah Akbar is a cry for help'.

Kate, you are a treasure.

It's not about wmds existing. That's a distortion of history. What's important is in any of these wmds were undeclared. There were lots of declared chemical and nerve agents, but these were not justification for the war.

Pre 1991 or not is irrelevant.

You mean like all the ones that got shipped off to Syria Allan S, that they keep finding these days? I seem to recall one of those got used in Syria this year too, can't recall the exact incident. Bunch of people died though.

And while we're at it, what's Obama's "justification for war"? Is one reporter killed on YouTube a larger or smaller justification than the World Trade Center collapsing?

There's a whole lot of history getting distorted all over the place. Always seems to be the same guys doing it though.

Our bad luck is that ISIL will happily immolate progressive twits ... and everyone else within range.

Over the years, the US Government has become the enemy of the American people. It obviously started
a long time ago. It has, hover, gotten much worse. Some of the activities of the FBI and the NSA,
not to mention others in the alphabet soup, could be characterized as treasonous; certainly criminal,
but probably treasonous as well.

It is very weakening for the American state. US Grant considered American soldiers to be the very best
in the world, in his day, because they were well informed; they discussed matters among themselves;
and knew what they fought for. What he would think of the current US can only be imagined.

The spying upon ordinary decent Americans is not only despicable, as are the police actions against
them, but these actions undermine the very backbone of the American state: the decency, integrity,
and pugnacity of ordinary Americans.

Again more distortion. Assad had these weapons for a long time. The bush administration accused saddam of having active chemical programs, active nuclear programs, and mobile chemical factories. Those accusations are still false.

Equally false is the lefts claim that there is no chemical weapons in iraq. There always were declared weapons, however who knows how these weapons could've been used in a conventional war. The claim that they're degraded beyond any use is clearly out to lunch.

The reality is this article changes little.

Why would the U.S. conceal the proof of WMDs when there was such rabid public criticism of the justification for war in Iraq?

Now, that BHO is gearing up for another romp in Iraq all of a sudden there are WMDs and guess who has them? ISIS. WTF?

(P.S. that the most acronyms I've ever used in one post)

He had 'fertilizer' factories up until day one of the bombing campaign, they can produce chemicals for weapons pretty easily, and Iraq is not exactly the breadbasket of that region...
