You might be liberal if:

The investigation into robo-calls was ineffective and hampered by politics, but
an investigation into missing and murdered aboriginal women will solve all the problems.

How about just abolishing the Native whatever federal department, and the ghettos we call reserves? I thought slavery was illegal in Canada.

Is there evidence that there is a serial killer targetting Aboriginal Women? Or are these all largely disconnected?

Hate to think that there was a willie "pigman" at work.

Dont fully understand the request for an inquiry unless it is to give a soapbox to talk about the plight of aboriginal women....which may lead uncomfotably to aboriginal men.....but I suspect they will then use that blame White Priveledge.....just a guess.

Seriously though, if there IS a serial killer(s) then I hope they dont dismiss investigations like they did in Vancouver.

A large portion of violent criminals in prison are Indians. Guess who they practice on? Indian women.

If Indian women leave the reserve and head to the city, lacking education and skills, they often end up as prostitutes, getting into stranger's cars in the middle of the night. Not a good idea.

I suspect an inquiry might spend $ 30 million to discover the obvious.

I remember running the numbers on this one a while back and finding that native women get murdered at rates that are exactly the same as their representation in the larger population. In other words, they aren't getting killed any more than one would expect if murders were completely random. There's no there, there.

Missing is a moose of a different colour, because all that's required there is for a young native woman to leave her home town/reserve and never talk to her friends and family again. Given how dysfunctional most reserves and northern towns are, I'm having trouble seeing how this is undesirable.

I have just re-read "Our Home or Native Land" by Melvin H. Smith Q.C., Forward by Rafe Mair

The book is a history of Aboriginal policy from a Legal POV. The Original (Principled) abolishment of Indian Status was championed by P.E. Trudeau "1969 White Paper". The establishment (DIAND) in the Civil Service & Legal litigation (Lawyers) Business lobbied to stop PET & he sold out Canadians. What a POS

The Aboriginal Policy is now BIG Business driven by Corrupt Court decisions by Black Robe Crows. The stacking of false claims backed by popular opinion which has been sold by (MSM) CBC.

Canada is all F###ed Up, why not understand the why of BS?

In the 32 years between 1980 and 2012, 14 per cent of female murder victims with a known ethnicity were aboriginal, and 17 per cent of male murder victims were also aboriginal, according to Statistics Canada. In the past three decades a total 15,600 people were murdered. Why are people fixated on the killers, when they should be concerned about why the abuse starts in the communities when they're children.

The abuse of aboriginal women starts at an early age often in their own home and continues as they grow up, drop out of school, join gangs, do drugs, and engage in risky behavior. If these communities spent less money on Chiefs and Councilors and more on raising healthy children, then this problem would be solved. The aboriginal communities are the only ones who can fix this and they already get enough money to do it IF they want to.

Two elephants in the room

Elephant 1. Native alcohol ism

Elephant 2. Probably will end up 90% native perps! like the black folks in the USA

The problem is they are not looking for solutions, they have had these grievance mongering exhibitions 40 times. They want the PR public sympathy to help sway the emotional SC of Canada. They must have a court case that the CBC can highlight the sorry plight of the Indian. The Residential Schools (most Indian Kids liked going to school & the chief's approved), Colonialism (what ever that means to treaty Indians Vs. other Canadians), and now missing aboriginal Women Vs. other missing Women.

It was PET (1980) that gave the DIAND 50 million for legal help in creating the Grievance (Indian) Industry. It is the lawyers that get all the money. The BC government recently made a mistake, thinking the chief was a lawyer, by giving him the usual 900K kickback. A forensic audit of all Indian Business could result in several law firms spending time in the crowbar Hotel

The Indians are just useful tools, screwed and tattooed.

Then your math skills suck, because Aboriginal women are murdered at 5 times the rate of non-Aboriginal women. I'm not saying a national inquiry is therefore a good idea, but at least get your facts straight.

Aboriginal women are murdered at 5 times the rate of non-Aboriginal women.

Facts don't support your opinion: According to the RCMP, in the 32 years between 1980 and 2012, 14 per cent of female murder victims with a known ethnicity were aboriginal, and 17 per cent of male murder victims were also aboriginal, according to Statistics Canada. In the past three decades a total 15,600 people were murdered, nearly 2,500 aboriginals: 1,750 male, 745 female and one person of unknown gender.
