Now is the time at SDA when we juxtapose!
November, 2009: "I think that we've restored America's standing in the world, and that's confirmed by polls"
October, 2014: Turkish officials categorically denied that they'd agreed to allow their bases to be used against the terror group.

Screw the Turks, Recognize Kurdistan, supply them with the heavy weapons and air support they need. Recognize ISIS in their current borders, explain to them that any funny business and they will be made an example of. Recognize Iraq's new borders and its status as a Shia state, probably soon to be a satellite of Iran.
Tell the Saudis and the Kuwaities to protect their own regimes. Raze Gaza, expel them all, building by building.
This is all left over conflict from the Treaty of Versailles, the "Peace to End All Peace." Churchill made some major screwups. He hated Muslims, I don't particularly like them, but it sure would be nice to get a do over on the end of WWI.
Can't disagree with you about the Turks, Tim. Mr. Edrogan needs to understand that the Europeans can WALK to Turkey (once the Germans remember their love of marching, anyway), and he's not going to be allowed to set up the Caliphate in Constantinople.
As to the rest of it, ISIS is the DemocRat's re-election scheme for the 2014 election next month. The Obama regime has kissed-off the whole of Iraq as of last year when they brought most of their guys home. The current bombing campaign is strictly for the cameras. Get some good footage of JDAMS striking convoys of Toyota Landcruisers, plug it 24/7 on CNN, job done.
ISIS is running around with kit that's way too fancy for them not to be bankrolled by one or more Gulf states, including obviously Iran. We forget that Saddam fought a war against Iran that killed over a million guys on both sides, but THEY don't forget. So ISIS is probably more of the same. They'll keep at it until the Shia and the Sunni depopulate each other in the area.
I don't know who those deep-pockets are, but somebody with a corner office at the Pentagon knows. Most likely even Obama knows despite his efforts to skive off and play golf all the time. He just doesn't care, because it doesn't affect election numbers.
With any luck the Saudis and the rest of the disgusting oil states would get sucked in to the maelstrom, and they could have a proper Middle Eastern self-inflicted circular @ss kicking. We could buy one-way tickets Toronto-to-Riyadh for any young tough guys who wanted to go fight there. Better they should get their @sses kicked over there than that I should be stuck doing it here.
Still, I could live without educating an entire generation of Mooselimbs on how to do war properly. They are useless now, but even idiots can learn things if they get pounded enough. It would be better if the evil pr1cks bankrolling the ISIS head choppers had an accident, I think.
An accident delivered by a B2 to their front yards in the dead of night, "Clear and Present Danger" style. It might be time.
I agree with all of your comment except for the ISIS part. ISIS should be bombed relentlessly using special forces of whatever coalition at hand to do spotting until Kurdish, Iraqi, and either Free Syrian Army or the regular Syrian forces can crush them.
ISIS is here to stay in one form or another. The framers of the Treaty of Versailles ignored the ME treaty ideas of Lawrence (of Arabia)and the Saud King, who were in Paris, and this spawned the radicalism we see today.
President Ebolee's compassion for the Kurds is nonexistent. In fact he holds them in contempt as they are an enemy of his radical Islamist pal Erdogan. He couldn't be happier about the impending slaughter. Our air support consists of 1 or 2 strikes a day - just enough to say "What? I'm bombing ISIS. Leave me the f alone."
Are you kidding? "NOTHING" is what he does best.
Of note, VDH, with successful succinctness, again deconstructs Obama's foreign policy and ME mishaps:

A snippet:
"There were no Americans dying in Iraq when Barack Obama pulled the remaining troops out in order to win a reelection talking point. Iraq was a functioning state, saved by the successful U.S. surge. That’s why both Obama and Joe Biden praised the post-surge calm. When Obama bragged that he had ended the Iraq War (which was ended in early 2009) and then brought our troops home, he gave the Maliki government a green light to hound its Sunni enemies and reboot civil strife in Iraq, in a way that soon birthed ISIS. The same sort of Saigon 1975 scenario will follow in Kabul early next year, if Obama goes ahead with recalling all U.S. peacekeepers from Afghanistan. In just two flippant decisions, the prophet Barack Obama sowed the wind, and now we are reaping the whirlwind that followed from perceptions of U.S. decline, foreign-policy indifference, and a new void in the Middle East."
And this damning, chilling conclusion:
"As Obama’s new policy against ISIS is shaping up, Iran is emerging as more of an ally in his eyes than is Israel."
Just another lie inflicted ted on the LIV.
It will mostly work.
Only the damned conservatives will take notice sincerity is they that are informed.
The assorted 'ists and their press agents will keep it to themselves so as not to disturb the blissful ignorance of LIV's.
Yeah well, Tarek Fatah commented on Sun News about the ME dance card...to which I agree.
When I heard that Turkey had joined the "co-alition" and would provide airbases for air strikes....my BS meter went off the scale....
