The glaringly obvious questions (therefore left unasked by the "professional" journalist): who exactly sets the "carbon budget" (and what exactly is a carbon budget anyway); and how exactly does a forest, let alone an ocean, "shut down"????

When CO2 levels were 10 or 100 times higher, still a trace gas, the world could only be described as lush. Where does the idea that the climate would become uninhabitable come from? Certainly not the fossil record. Perhaps pulled out of Al Gore's a$$?

Some coastal cities and islands might become inundated by the sea because of rising levels from glacial retreat which has been happening for over 10,000 years. The good news is they have at least 1,000 years warning to move.
