This a later version by Johnny Cash, who married June Carter. And please EBD, don’t misread this, I loved your version. I just want to reiterate the video I once witnessed when listening to Johnny Cash live. Above the stage in the crowded auditorium was a 16MM video of the Wabash Cannon Ball as shown in the above Youtube feature.
Check out the scene at about 1:23. If that’s not enough to give you goosebumps, nothing ever will!
Enjoy!!
Thanks for sharing those, Plainzdrifter and EBD. I enjoyed them both very much.
Here’s Johnny Cash’s “When the Man Comes to Town” – not everybody’s cup of tea but it speaks to me.

Tony Abbott starts to cave:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/australia/11173557/Australias-Parliament-House-lifts-short-lived-veil-ban.html
The reason we should not allow veils in public is because they go against one of the most fundamental tenets in Western culture, namely that we do not hide our identity. Throw that away, and you might as well throw away half our culture.
I had high hopes for Abbott, but I am beginning to think we will never again see leaders like Reagan or Thatcher.
Thanks for the music fellows.

“The Return of the Face”
“Senator Elizabeth Warren is reported in the Washington Post as preparing the Base for hard and heavy tidings. “The game is rigged, and the Republicans rigged it,” Warren said to loud cheers.
At least there were cheers for Warren. The president would have welcomed some in Maryland, where he was stumping for Anthony Brown. Reuters said the crowd walked out on Obama. “A steady stream of people walked out of the auditorium while he spoke, however, and a heckler interrupted his remarks.” And this was friendly territory.”

“Rally Attendees Leave Event After Obama Began Speaking
The thrill is gone”
“Many attendees of an Obama campaign rally headed for the exits shortly after the president began speaking Sunday evening.
Speaking at campaign rally in Maryland for Democratic candidate for governor Anthony Brown, Obama either ignored or didn’t notice the movement of attendees out of the event.
The White House pool report described the mass exodus as “unusual” and one reporter present tweeted it was “weird.””

Steam locomotives jingle and roar. They don’t rumor, they rumble. Come see the Frisco Meteor 4-8-4, oil burning (in Oklahoma naturally), Number 4500 in original livery. You can see it on display as you go past the refineries. I suspect that may be the last 4-8-4 passenger Locomotive (Steam Locomotive) you will ever see. It is monstrous and beautiful!
In some of the oldest versions of the song the listeners were enjoined to listen to tales (rumours) surrounding the legendary train.
I’d love to see the Frisco Meteor!

“The world is about to find out China’s threshold for pain”
“Stay laser focused on China for the next 60 hours.
What happens over that time period could significantly shift what happens in that country both economically and politically.
On the economic side, the country will release data on three crucial metrics — GDP, retail sales, and industrial production. This is key in understanding whether the Chinese economy is staying its rough course to normalization, or veering off the rails.
Politically, Communist party leaders are gathering for the Fourth Plenum. In this meeting they’ll discuss the legal future of the country — or, as the party put it, issues related to ‘governing the country according to law.’”

“China is again slowly turning in on itself”
“Chinese leaders are falling back on what they know. And what they know are tactics drawn from the 1950s and ’60s — ones being used now: party rectification movements, politicized anticorruption purges, televised self-confessions by social media celebrities, foreign corporate investigators and alleged terrorists.
And this is dangerous, because it risks taking China backward. And not to the Deng era, but to far more unstable ones that preceded him.”
