  1. Non-linky tip: If you missed the first airings of today’s The Source with Ezra Levant, be sure to watch the next available viewing – preferably (with family present – in which he absolutely eviscerates the “consortium” of broadcasters who are trying to protect Justin Trudeau.
    He’s got more internal emails from the CBC, including from Peter Mansbridge, and he shows how the current law, and legal precedents – including a Federal court decision from a previous election – make the Liberals’ media shills’ current attempt to organize a journalistic censorship cartel ridiculous and invalid.
    If the next broadcast is on too late for you in your time zone, and you have a PVR, record it.

    I believe that the CBC, CTV and Global (etc) are cuddling up to Trudeau as a last straw to protect their jobs and their role in one of the fastest declining institutions of our society, Television.
    I come home late every night only to turn the TV on and find an infinite source of refuse on the screen. I subscribe to Access Cable out of Regina. Sadly they don’t provide Sun news unless I go with the expensive package. My neighbour took it last month, he now needs two separate remotes to switch from the bad package to the poor one..
    How many shows can you watch about guys mining gold in the Yukon or under the Bering Sea? After two years, enough is enough! How many people are really all that interested in the Duck Dynasty?? Do chefs really cry and throw dishes when their chocolate soufflé doesn’t rise? How many times can you watch the same garbage being auctioned off from a storage unit in Texas? And how many times can you watch people trying to pawn a pocket watch or a picture of Marilyn Monroe? As for mediums talking to the dead, that hoax was blown by Houdini in 1900! As for the news, I don’t need to the same flood 12 times in four hours!
    The truth is that TV is dying. The media, except Sun News, knows that their last stand is to cuddle up to Trudeau, hoping that he may get elected, and then try and try and introduce protective legislation like in was back in the day when ”Canadian content” was an issue. I don’t think it’s any different across the border. Just watch CNN late at night after they run out of news and switch to cooking or crime. The end is near for TV. As for Ezra, hopefully I`ll be able to listen to him on my ”Dick Tracy wrist watch radio” in the near future, or on the small screen embedded into by bi-focals!

  16. Thanks bluetech, I missed this segment of Ezra’s due to a Thanksgiving dinner with our Saskatchewan resident kids and gkids. My wife’s pumpkin pie is even more important than Ezra. I can see and hear Ezra everyday, pumpkin pie not so much, maybeee twice a year.
    The expose was excellent, but unfortunately how many Canadians will have actually seen this? The Harper haters will fight the governments attempt to strengthen fair-use laws by lying through their teeth about the issue during the “news” broadcasting.

  18. In the US if something is paid for by the taxpayer, it belongs to the taxpayer — hence, all those museums in Washington are free. Now we don’t have exactly the same legislation in Canada, but I would like to see someone pursue the “ownership” of CBC content. The taxpayers paid for it. Should they not own it? Do the booses own it? Or the business interests? I think a court challenge of some sort might help to clarify.

    I stopped watching broadcast TV years ago. A computer is connected to my HDTV, anything worth watching is available on the net, or as films from Amazon, with no advertising.

Not sure if this qualifies as a tip, since it’s my own experience rather than a news spot, but for those of you following the Bethany Paquette vs. Amaruk story, I had a lengthy email conversation with a man calling himself Leif Vilhjalmsson of Amaruk last night. Apart from a lot of friendly back-and-forth name-calling and proving he knows nothing about Norse history, I managed to maneuver him into telling me his company’s legal strategy in defending themselves against the charge of employment discrimination. Oops.
    They intend to show the Court that Trinity Western University is an “extremist organization,” believing that this will exonerate them from the charge of employment bias on religious grounds. Additionally, they will ask the Court to subpoena the Internet providers of anyone who sent them negative emails, requesting their identities be revealed so that they can be brought to Court to – kind of a one-note theme here – demonstrate that they are also “extremists.”
    So I sent this little tidbit to Ms. Paquette’s lawyer Geoffrey Trotter, who thanked me, as well as to Ezra Levant. I rather hope they do follow this dumbass-legal-aid-newbie strategy, since failure to prove these (irrelevant) accusations in Court should leave them open to multiple libel suits.
    Gosh, but these Interwebs make life interesting! 🙂
