Always entertaining to see how far a once proud city can slip. Proudly voting Democrat with the inevitable end result.

Canadian CF-18s in Baltics escort Russian aircraft to the exits...

"The drama took place Sept. 11 in international air space, Lt.-Col. David Pletz said in an interview. The Canadian warplanes flew beside a Russian An26, looked into the cockpit and then followed the potential intruder for several minutes, said Pletz, the commander of the detachment of four CF18s based in Lithuania and head of the Canadian air task force."
I like the music. It goes well with day one of Luka Magnotta's trial. The bleeding hearts are saying that he shouldn't be held criminally responsible for killing Jun Lin.
(In reality, who is sane after killing another person for no apparent reason??)
He was smart enough to forge a career by acting in porn flicks, and modelling high end clothes. He was smart enough to impersonate a woman for the purpose of obtaining a credit with which he defrauded the company of $10,000. He was smart enough to evade the Montreal City Police, the RCMP, Interpol and made it all the way to Berlin prior to being arrested for killing Jun Lin. But he's not responsible for his actions.
And what about Jun Lin and his family?? Are they not entitled to justice??

"Smog Clouds Shanghai’s Drive to Become Global Financial Center"
"Shanghai is cracking down on polluters with the introduction of stricter fines to combat the hazardous smog levels that are testing its drive to become a global financial center.
Beginning tomorrow, the city will boost the maximum penalty for pollution fivefold to 500,000 yuan ($82,000). Repeat offenders, whether companies or individuals, risk additional fines.
The penalties are designed to address the growing problem of deteriorating air quality in China’s second-most populous city. Dirty air undermines quality of life and threatens to discourage foreign financial industry talent from choosing the city over places like Hong Kong or Singapore as it tests open-market policies with a free-trade zone."

Several Britons agreed to give up their eldest child in return for the use of free wifi, in an experiment to highlight the dangers of public Internet, published on Monday.
The experiment was aimed to highlight "the total disregard for computer security by people when they are mobile" the report said. In just 30 minutes, 250 devices connected to the hotspot -- some of them doing so automatically due to their settings.
The company was able to collect the text of emails they sent, the email addresses of the sender and recipient, and the password of the sender.
"At best, your device is only leaking information about you, at worst, your passwords are being spilled into a publicly accessible space... anybody on the network can see your information," said F-Secure Security Advisor Sean Sullivan.

"Yesterday’s train today
TAMAGHNA BANERJEE
An express train left Sealdah 15 hours late on a day the railway minister kept showering bounties on Bengal.
The 2987 Sealdah Ajmer Express that was scheduled to leave Sealdah at 11.20pm on Thursday left around 2pm on Friday.
Most of the passengers spent the night at the station, some checked into nearby hotels while a few went back home and returned early in the morning only to wait almost through the day for the train to leave.
The railway authorities blamed the delayed departure on the late arrival of the corresponding Down train.
“The train from Ajmer arrived at 9.30am on Friday instead of 3.55pm on Thursday,” said an Eastern Railway official.
The train went to the car shed after the passengers got off and returned to the station around 11am to start its journey for Ajmer."
