Assad was far from being a “good guy” by our standards. The same can be said for Kadhafi and even Saddam Hussein. By declaring their newly conquered territory a Caliphate and it’s leader, Bukari Al-Bagdhadi. the Caliph, they outrank all the other jihadi groups.

Only the Caliph can declare an offensive war, this is why the current jihadis claim, ridiculously so, that their war on the apostates and the infidel is a “defensive” war. Under Sharia Law that is the most they can do.
Once you realize that the Caliph can declare an offensive war. Then all the pious Muslims world wide are obliged to obey, you know why Western and Arab nations are worried.
