Backlash

Eventually, there’ll be hell to pay.

Global warming policies abet terrorism and global insecurity. If Western governments weren’t spooked by global warming, ISIS would be less of a threat to the West, the Middle East would be less of a cauldron of hate, Europe wouldn’t be held hostage by Russia and China wouldn’t be threatening its neighbours over islands in the South and East China Seas.

  1. I agree with most of the article, but Solomon is conveniently silent on his own role in restricting western energy supply, namely his persistent and irrational antinuclearism for more than 30 years. A position he has largely dropped of late.

  2. Agreed cgh. I was thinking the same thing while I was reading the article. The insane opposition to nuclear energy simply exacerbated the problems mentioned in the article. I suspect if “green” energy such as the bird blenders actually did work, the enviro loons, in their endless quest for targets of moral outrage, would eventually turn on them and demand we run the economy on pixie dust and shale gas.

  3. When I read this in Friday’s FP I couldn’t help but think it’s just an echo of Ezra Levant’s tome “Ethical Oil” of several years ago.

  4. Speaking of bird blenders, I watched again the SNN documentary on the damned monsters and the go-to-hell attitude/we’re going to continue with our commitments to the installations of the Wynne Liberals.
They have their majority,we gave it to them through the politics of the stupid, the uninformed and the swallowers of environmental snake oil. There is no hope for Ontario, the monstrosities are going up, anyone near them who’s health forces them to leave their lands, their homes, tough titty.
This communistic tact, a government that listens to no one but their Union supporters to whom their politically indebted, is built on a foundation of lies by Dalton McGuinty is entrenched in Ontario and we allowed it to happen because the Opposition leader told some bold truths. These truths will be proven as we go along as an economic basket case, paying higher and higher costs for power. As one professor said, turbines don’t run on wind, they run on subsidies.

  5. Maurice Strong made it quite clear; the greens want the de-industrialization of the world. And the head of WWF, His Idiocy Prince Phillip, wants to be reincarnated as a lethal disease.

  6. Agreed, both comments. I made the error of reading many of the comments to his article and every comment except one that I read was by a Warmista. This is a very vocal brainwashed group, so it is no wonder that provincial election campaigns in eastern Canada and pipeline building reviews focus on progress or a return to cave man days.
How did we ever get to this point.

  7. You can have oil sands oil for money. Middle Eastern oil is bought with lives. It would be nice to depoliticize oil and PETA aside make it another commodity like pork bellies. No-one dies for pork bellies.

  8. Exactly. The first wave of pseudo-environmental hysteria was 45 years ago and included those responsible for significantly slowing the development of nuclear power and Solomon was riding that wave. Improvements in air and water quality came from that era but that was when real pollutants were targeted as opposed to CO2.

  9. “No one dies for pork bellies.”
Somewhere, some jihadi is dieing for attempting to enforce the Sharia law against eating pork on the rest of the world.
    It’s a start.

  10. When are we going to realize, whether greenie, socilists,or the common human,it comes down to one word…..MONEY.Just over 2000 years ago,the greatest humanitarian and teacher known to mankind was sold out for 20 lousy pieces of silver. What have we learned since then? Is there anybody left who takes a vow of poverty anymore? Just asking.

  11. What another trendy twit returning to reality?
Of course there is gonna be hell to pay for the CAGW scheme.
When you are revealed as willing to lie to further your ideology, you can not be trusted by anyone.
The vile abuse heaped upon anyone who has questioned this lunacy, has created a lot of embittered resentful citizens.
It will be a pleasure to give these righteous morons their own back.
This mass hysteria was whipped up deliberately, created, promoted and still being shielded from investigation by the agencies of our government.
Canada’s part in this shameful episode will haunt us for decades.
Mr Strong and those aiding and enabling him should all face treason charges.
    But they never will.
Follow the money is the fastest was to truth.
Who benefits from crippling Canada’s energy development?
Who benefits from our lack of infrastructure?
Who acted to ensure their benefit?

  12. “Communistic”? Well possibly. But the tactic used in Ontario is more closely tied to fascism. In the “communistic” model, the bird choppers would be built, operated and owned entirely by the state itself. In this case, the government has set up a regulatory system that allows for certain corporate interests to rake in the dough but entirely under the control of the government.
Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish communism from fascism, but the one single marker for both of them is top down government control…..in communism, all property is controlled by the state….in fascism, the illusion of property ownership remains, but is still controlled by the state.

  13. Well said, a brief but clear explanation of the main difference between the two.
John Robertson, “Mr Strong and those aiding and enabling him should all face treason charges. But they never will.” So true. And so should the so-called Canadian charities taking foreign money to undermine our resource development.

  14. Just saw an article this AM,can’t find the link unfortunately, that Wynne’s popularity has increased somewhat, according to the latest poll.

  15. Fak! It’s snowing here, +2C. Ground is turning white, and visibility is less than 1/2 mile. Must be Global Warming!

  16. Bomb every refinery, oil well and pipeline ISIS occupies.
Next sabotage the Russian pipeline through Ukraine.
    Problem solved.

  17. In related news, Russian fighters were buzzing a Canadian frigate in the Black Sea today… Paying lip service to Russian “consequences” and Western Europe not developing their energy supplies should work out really well…. Keep it up and they’ll have more nuclear energy in a day than they can handle over a century… Although all those extra Sun’s in the sky should up their solar energy output for a few second.

  18. It would help if one was reminded daily of every big whale lining his or her pockets with resources he or she publicly called “dirty”. After all, even bigwigs feel shame. Can Warren Buffet et al hide in their villas forever?

  19. justthinkin;
Sorry, but I really have to correct you. First (and least important) the year was about 33AD, slightly LESS than 2,000 years ago. Jesus of Nazareth was not just “greatest humanitarian and teacher known to mankind” – he was the Christ, the Messiah the Jews had been waiting for, GOD incarnate! And his message was SALVATION, not money. He never ascribed to any “vow of poverty” – He trusted the Father to provide for His needs. Being sold out by Judas was a necessary part of His mission here on earth – to be the sacrificial lamb to redeem mankind.
You really should read the Bible sometime, it’s more than fascinating.
