Most Women Don’t Care About Ant-Man’s Pym Particles

Sexism, obviously.

Men (well, those of a nerdly bent) tend to be interested in trivia and obscura; women tend to not be, or at least not so much… So the real [feminist] complaint boils down to this: The ten percent of Wikipedia which could reflect the cultural preferences of its unpaid volunteers does in fact reflect the cultural preferences of its unpaid volunteers, and yes, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine does get a more exhaustive, nerdishly-loving treatment than Sex & the City.
The federal government needs to pay people to study this and propose “solutions”? It occurs to me that we’ve spent $202,000 for a “study” which deliberately avoids a very simple explanation: Women just aren’t as interested in this type of crap as men. You don’t have to believe that to at least agree: This should have been one of the explanations scientifically studied, if we’re going to have a scientific study at all.

  1. Another cry from subsidy-addicted unemployable pseudo-academa lefties to unaccountable socialist kleptocrats for yet another self-serving “social study” that yields nothing but a deceitful political statement from the quacks who scribbled it.
Any civil servant who wastes public resources on such pointless self absorbed proselytizing while there are unfulfilled government trusts, should smell tar boiling on the cool morning air.

  2. I recommend a compromise – an exhaustive account of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, in which Kim Cattrall (in possibly her best role) plays Lt. Valeris, a Vulcan protégé to Spock.
In very much the same fashion as an epic two part episode in ST: TNG, you might say this is the “best of both worlds”.

  3. This is an IMPORTANT article for everyone to read. It clearly illustrates a typical “First World Problem” and shows how some people strain to cast everything as oppression & victimhood.
    Examples:
    – More computer programmers are males: Sexism
    – Black & Hispanic students do poorly in school: Racism
    – Most race car drivers are white males: Sexism + Racism
    On & on it goes.

  4. Another transparent attempt to increase the theft of my money (taxes) to give the progressives control over another facet of the human experience. I can hear it now: “Lots of people use Wikipedia to get their information, we need to control more of that information”.
    ps Kim C. was hot as a Vulcan….. Just say’in 🙂

  5. Trying to remember the comic film which has a scene in it where the nerdy guy who collects Star Wars stuff and loves The Lord of the Rings meets a nerdy school principal (a woman) who speaks Elvish. They both hit it off and start speaking at great length in Elvish.

  6. not just the nerds, ever listen to some guys recite stats from various pro sports leagues.

  7. 17 Again, “starring” Zac Efron and Matthew Perry. It’s surprisingly watchable, but rather like two movies squished into one.
