“Your TD service charges at work”.

David Southern emails (somewhat edited);

You’ll need to go to the fully interactive element of this article to confirm, but by my check, the Toronto-Dominion Bank and its affiliates (mostly in eastern North America, the exception being Abu Dhabi), paid Mr. Clinton the following sums for speaking engagements while his wife was Secretary of State of the United States (USD):
2009: $800,000
2010: $350,000
2011: $480,000
Total: $1,630,000 for nine speaking engagements.
TD and its affiliates, apparently, were the only Schedule 1 bank-related financial institutions to pay him anything in the period. (There are lots of other outrages, such as the City of Surrey, BC — $175,000 to Bill on October 20, 2011, the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, etc., etc., etc.)

And prior to that…

… you may be interested to also know that Bill Clinton was paid the following sums by the TD Bank and/or its affiliates for speaking engagements:
$175,000 — Montreal QC, November 25, 2008
$175,000 — Moncton ON, November 25, 2008
$175,000 — London ON, November 26, 2008
So, Bill was paid $525,000 by the TD Bank and/or its affiliates in a, more or less, 24-hour period. I’m guessing, of course, but I would expect that that would not include, you know, expenses, Secret Service costs, etc., which I’m guessing were reimbursed (as would have been all of the similar expenses in the previous engagements in my previous correspondence) by TD and/or its affiliates.
At first, I assumed that Moncton actually meant Moncton, NB, but it actually makes more sense, from a moving-around-the-country perspective to go from Montreal,QC to Moncton,ON to London, ON considering that Moncton,ON (a police village of under 500 people) about ten miles north-west of Stratford, here in deepest darkest Harperland, is only about 50 miles from London.
Funny that none of us red-necks ’round heard about it at all. Everybody knows that Bill’s disclosures, as reported by WAPO, couldn’t possibly untruthful, could they?

But that’s just the teaser. Here’s a spreadsheet: Bill Clinton in Canada, 2008-2011.xlsx

  1. So does this mean I have to close my TD account to get my revenge and go to ING the Orange tinted Bank with no “Bricks & Morter” just an internet address?
    Holy *hIT , TD assholes!!

  2. Holy Mackerel! I’d say that Turdo la Doo has some catchin’ up to do!

  3. TD is a fixture at Bilderberg – they are a globalist insider with all the political cronyism that goes with that.

  4. Back in the mid part of the last decade I was employed for a company that forced me to join the Teamsters. I came home one day and had a voice mail auto dial message from Bill Clinton plugging the Hoffa Jr. slate of candidates in the teamsters national election. Wouldn’t you know it, not a single leftist complained to the media about Bill Clinton’s Robo Calls.

  5. I’m surprised Bill Clinton has yet to visit the Ontario town of Stayner.

  6. TD Bank is a well known “Liberal” friendly
edifice, especially at the top of the pile.

  7. Someone should introduce Sick Willie to Dizzy May. He would learn the stark reality of what happens when he puts his Johnson in a wood chipper.

  8. I suppose I should now close my TD accounts and move on to a nicer, kinder, gentler bank … IF ONE EXISTED.
In an effort to cash in on the growing senior market, a few yeas ago, TD offered no fee accounts to anyone over 60 … I opened two of them .. I have not paid a penny in fees since. I don’t pay for checks, money orders, transfers etc … nada … they no long offer those accounts … probably because they were too popular.
Sometimes you just need to hold your nose and do what you have to do. If we shun every single entity that offends … we will wind up protesting in a stinking part with the other 99% ers.

  9. WTF is this, except a pre-emptive bribe. This, and the hiring of some ex-Congressman as lobbyists is part of the ” honest graft ” that comes with a massively regulatory state.

  10. Since I am pretty sure he gave the same speech in that 24 hour rally, could they not just have broadcast the speech to all locations and saved a bit of money? I also cannot imagine who would be keen to come out and see this hypocrite.

  11. Monica was in the news again this morning. For a poor dear who was supposedly a victim, her only problem is she just can’t STFU. She’s almost as much of a shameless self promoter as Dead Diana, Princess of Wales. When the media starts ignoring her, you go looking for cameras. Apparently Monica is 40, hasn’t found a man, and is supposed to be an object of our pity. She needs to to three things, work on technique, find a dry cleaner, and STFU.

  12. I’m glad now that I left TD. Went to CIBC due to friendliness and rates. Of course they’re probably just as bad, but at least they don’t treat me like shite like TD did…

  13. The TD has expanded into the USA in the past couple of decades. They call themselves “America’s most convenient bank” and the headquarters are in New Jersey, always the sign of a reputable business. Nowhere on the TD USA website will you find ‘Toronto Dominion’. If you want to play in the USA you have to invest in the power structure.

  14. Boycott TD bank. Close your accounts with them now. You have many other choices.
Don’t just talk the talk. Walk the walk.

  15. No Democrat is a victim, Monica especially. She was an enabler.
Although Monica started out as an unpaid White House Intern, immediately after she and BJ Clinton became acquainted with each other’s ‘oral regions’, she immediately thereafter began to draw a salary, thus upgrading her job description from amateur to professional.IYKWIMAITYD

  16. “…I’m surprised Bill Clinton has yet to visit the Ontario town of Stayner…”
He was heading there, but he got waylaid in Borups Corners.

  17. Did he attend the notorious Borups Corners Ho Down and hunt for whitetail deer?

  18. Noticed in their ads for mortgages, they often have two affectionate young professional type lads, going over their plan with the bank managers etc.. Not that there is anything wrong with that; but you pays your penny, you takes your choice. Seems to me the ScotiaBank (Bank of Nova Scotia) goes out of its way to please certain groups too. That is okay because I actually deal with Credit Unions, though not the obviously lefty-dorky ones like VanCity, here in Vancouver.

  19. “I’m surprised Bill Clinton has yet to visit the Ontario town of Stayner.”
Though he does remind me of the used car salesmen over at Nixon Motors on Highway 26.

  20. Yeah, but the benefits show up within a year, in the form of an enriched gene pool, smart good-looking babies who will grow up to be kings and emperors, queens and empresses, community college profs for sure, once Justin’s done of course.

  21. A lot of the posters seem to be confusing TD’s obligations to their account holders (they have none) other than the fiduciary ones as defined by their regulators.TD exist and are obligated to generate profits to their shareholders. If Hillary becomes president in 2016, the return on TD’s speaking fee expenses could be ten fold. Time will be the judge of TD’s strategy regarding this, but it seems like a reasonable business investment. Disclosure, I am a TD account holder and shareholder.

  22. Slick Willy would probably think May was just a friendly Bucky the Beaver and take his chances…

  23. So, this is how it is done. Bill and Hillary were nice to TD and now it’s time for payback.
