  1. I’m guessing there’s a new bridge being planned. My question is what the heck does the federal government have to do with it? The less levels of government involved the better as less mismanagement and waste of the taxpayers dollars occurs.

  2. Locals always want the feds to cough up money, no matter what the cause/project. After all, federal tax money doesn’t come out of your pocket… say what? It does?

  3. It would save a lot of confusion if we just simply said that all these projects are 100% taxpayer funded. They could reuse the same signs over and over. “This is not a cost shared project, it is 100% taxpayer funded”.

  4. Oooh, I bet it’s the commuter fridge to nowhere! I’m glad I work at home. I’d be willing to bet the delays on Idylwyld/highway 11/12 are going to be awful for several years once this gets started.

  5. Yes there is only one taxpayer but when feds help pay its nice that not all the money goes to quebec and ontario

  6. Could someone from Saskatchewan please explain this “insider” joke?
Did Wall mean,” we have approached the Federal Government to beg for funding to build a new bridge in one of our cities, only thing to be ironed out is which company gets the boondoggle….er contract”?
Use SNC Lavalin,Brad, they’re well connected, and own Hwy 407 in Ontario. Maybe you can trade them Regina for the price of the bridge.

  7. A north bridge and accompanying roadways in Saskatoon means that the city traffic engineers will have to put in an order for hundreds of new traffic lights to be installed along the route. Can’t have traffic moving too quickly now, can we?

  8. “rhymes with blue fridge” – I was sure it was either the government is going to give everyone a new fridge to make sure we are environmentally friendly, or paint the bridges blue to make them less obtrusive over the water.

  9. Great news for Saskatchewan’s core, more bridges, more voter alignment.
Bridges, perks, for the centre, kinda NDP light. Outlands.. no transport, no passable roads, no primary corridor plan, no health care, no elder care, a true love in for the voter base.
Contributors to the provinces success, outside Regina, Saskatoon, PA, just wait, it will get better…we promise. Second term, outlands and economic engine areas are still waiting.
Focus or plan for the outlands, nada. Still scattering about money, without focus, noisy and connected areas get mega bucks. No regional or effective model, no focus on efficient delivery of service. Can’t hire folks, property prices and property taxes are nuts. Much better to live elsewhere, and parachute in on scheduled days on. Education, substandard still,no excellence or charter school in search of excellence models elsewhere.
Come to the CITY, it’s where it’s at, its only place health care, and services are available, silly you, living out THERE. Don’t pay attention to property crime, vandalism, other negatives, it’s getting better. REALLY???
Same old, same old. New badge, same model. Central, otherwise no soup for you.
Efficient, how that E Health going?? Alta has it up and going for a while. How’s the LEAN working?? Chaos on the front line. Management though, growing and growing, seen this movie before??
Saskatchewan,so much promise,so much ineptitude and expert management. EPIC fail.
Enjoy the bridges, and ring roads, and new stadium, and other perks of being the voter base. Bugs and bunny people will run costs over best of estimates, others will pay.
New Saskatchewan, looks a lot like the old one folks. Making it easier to get through will benefit everyone.
    My opinion

  10. Well, in any case, the sooner the better as far as a new bridge at the north end is concerned. I feel sorry for the truckers coming from the east and heading toward Edmonton, Ft. McMurry or other points north-west.
Foothills Red, you must remember that the Sask Party has a number of Red Tories just like the Alberta PC Party.

  11. Maybe Wall wants some of that ‘equallization’ dough they are always sending back east. With the Liebels edging towards re-election I understand the Ontario govment
is installing a bigger motor in their ‘money’ vac.
