Trudeau has mused aloud, unwisely, with precious little forethought, about all manner of stuff, from pot laws to his professed admiration for China’s dictatorship. He is a political flibbertigibbet, his judgment a mile wide and a millimetre deep. Thus, Trudeau was stumped for an answer to the obvious followup question after stating that abortion opponents would be barred from seeking Liberal nominations — whether he’d allow Liberal MPs already in the fold to vote freely or absent themselves should an abortion bill come before the House of Commons.

    It’s about the right time. Shiny Pony’s had most of a year or so to “reveal” himself to his adoring public. Now they’re finding out that the shine is pretty thin. Even the Red Star’s most virulent leftist partisans are starting to have trouble.

  6. Thanks for linking that Youtube clip. I saw Turd le Deux mutter and fumble and drop the ball on his answer on the initial broadcast. However since that the media have edited the painful 10 or 12 seconds out so as to make sure the unwashed masses don’t see what a clown he is.

    But then what should one expect from someone who openly admires Chinese dictatorship, in front of an all woman crowd, where mandated abortions are the order of the day?
    Oh yes and what about the much vaunted freedom of religion and conscience clause of the Charter that is trumpeted so mightily to the heights?
    This is what passes for “leadership” in the pantheons of political correctness… a mockery of conscience.

  19. Lost in all of this are the views of the CONSTITUENTS who will vote (or not) for these candidates. Wonder how long it will take the Shiny Pony to remember that forcing candidates to conform to a particular stance on abortion does not automatically mean the voters will toe the line as well. But the more important question is: will this shake those voters looking for the reincarnation of the PET era loose from their delusion?

    …which also describes a big segment of the voters to a Tee. JT’s handlers know that his comments appeal to that like-minded crowd. They’re easily herded to a popularity contest.
    It’s a mistake to assume that elections are about selecting the most qualified person for the job. For the vast majority of the voters, it’s a popularity contest like picking prom royalty. Definitely not like selecting the valedictorian.

  34. Despite all the obvious shortcomings, and despite common sense, he will still get his share of votes, amazingly. The same crowd that thinks their current Premier Daddy McWynnie is also doing a bang up job.
    Canada has two classes of people, the realists, and the utopian dreamers. It’s clear the utopian can’t deal with reality and have no clue. These are the Ponys of the world, and this is why they are so out of touch with the realists.
    It is foolish in the extreme to allow a dreamer anywhere near the reigns of power………how’s that worked out in the USSA?

  36. Young Turdeau’s upcoming bid for Canada’s leadership will be an adventure in Hollywood style media management. A campaign of vague wishful thinking which will, unfortunately, appeal to many. It worked for his father and will work for him as well. The truly scary aspect to all this is that the ‘kid’ is a loose cannon. Those that are orchestrating this campaign have no idea what he will do once in power. They simply trust that they will continue to control his actions.
    As a conservative I must trust that PMSH has depth knowledge in what he faces and can counter. I am more than concerned about what I see ‘on the ground’ out here in BC. A lot of disenchantment by natural conservatives. If politics are reduced to the ‘pretty face’ equivalent then I do not hold much hope. I just read that Canada’s public and private debt now stands at 284% of GDP. Sounds bad until you see that figure is less than half of the next G7 country. Japan is pushing 700%. Does the voter going into the booth think about this? I suggest not. Harper has to campaign on a economic plank but his success is not a given.

    I agree completely.
    Somewhat off topic, I just never got the “Pretty Face” thing with Trudeau?? Of course I’m not gay or anything weird like that, but the man has the face of a mule and is the furthest thing from “pretty”, at least from a normal heterosexual non-deviant male perspective.
    I suppose some normal women would be attracted to him only because there’s “someone for everyone” right? Yet the disproportionate comments on his “good looks” surpass what should be mainstream commentary.
    I guess Ezra got the Shiny Pony hair thing correct, which is really about sexual fetish on one hand and cult Leader worship by the left on the other.
    Regardless, anyway we look at it; we’re doomed as a nation if the majority of Canadians elected him as our dear leader.

  38. Alas, as a Canada/U.S. dual citizen who votes in both countries (and also has to pay tax in both countries) I once thought that Obama getting elected once was driven by a one-time plague of white guilt, but nobody would vote for that putz a second time … UNTIL THEY DID!
    Now I am truly concerned that with the Liberal Party + The Media Party + the Layton-less NDP’s vote collapsing, Shiny Pony really is a genuine threat to become PM. If I had not lived it with Obungler in the U.S. I’d never have lost a moment’s sleep over it, but now??? …. I’m running out of countries to flee to when it happens.
