Spike Lee, now there’s an interesting cat: you could take all the vitriol and raw hatred for Blacks in the world, past and present, and still not be able to outdo his devastatingly negative portrayal of Black culture in his movie, Do The Right Thing.
Contrary to Lee’s intent, the viewer gets a confirmation of everything he’s ever witnessed: shiftless men who don’t do a lick of work or complain when asked to do the smallest task, an affinity for clothes and accessories well beyond their means and at the expense of being a man and putting food on the table, some jackass with a boom box going around the neighbourhood and forcing his music on others, another jackass who goes ballistic when someone accidentally trod on his expensive white Air Jordans, two jackasses demanding the only viable enterprise in the area, the Italian pizza joint, put up photos of Blacks . . . you couldn’t defame Blacks any better if you tried.
He’s a crap filmmaker.
What Spike Lee doesn’t mention is the positive of wealth creation for the people of those communities based on their investment in their properties which have gone up drastically in value.

If Lee is upset about his neighbourhood changing because new neighbours have different tastes values etc well, that needs to be worked out with give an take on both sides. It’s happened to me when my neighbourhood began to change, that’s life. Look at Canada, one day whites won’t be the majority based on the trends we can see. We’ll all need to adapt.
