  1. Kate, that little comment you put in would probably be right over their heads. I did find the essay interesting and pro Inuit with no mention of the usual tree hugger nonsense of global warming. There’s a good reason they only have one expedition a year in August, and even that could disappear if the cooling trend continues.

  2. This exposure of natural reality to the deluded was positive in the intellectual growth of this small band of eco-pilgrims but too miniscule to be effective in getting the collective left to drop their mythology on the environment.
I would have loved to have been along on this jaunt, if only to witness urban progressives smug insular presumption colliding against the vast wall of reality.

  4. O-F-F-S
we get winter for 6/12 months
will the loons just go there 24/7/365 and not come back

  5. For liberal environmentalists the whole world is just like it is from their view out the window of the Starbucks where they whinge about capitalism with fellow idiots and sip their Latte in. There is a huge world out there libbies, far to big for puny man to change anything but little pockets of, but go on employing people to take yourselves to the south pole or the north pole or wherever, there is billions of square miles of ice, so you can see how it is melting in minus temperatures, it merely affirms what every conservative productive taxpayer knows, your nuts.

  6. You people need to get a life and quit thinking about the cold..
    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/noaa-world-in-2013-was-4th-hottest-on-record/
Last year was tied for the fourth warmest year on record around the world.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Tuesday released its global temperature figures for 2013. (think hockey stick)
The average world temperature was 58.12 degrees (14.52 Celsius) tying with 2003 for the fourth warmest since 1880.
Both agencies said nine of the 10th warmest years on record have happened in the 21st century.
    The hottest year was 2010.
    Be Aware, Be Aware
All this snow is caused by global warming

  7. “You people need to get a life and quit thinking about the cold..”
…..and you need to stop allowing propaganda and statistical manipulators destroy your capacity for reason and objective critical thinking.
NASA says we have been in a cooling trend for the past decade and that combined with the lack of sunspot activity signals the beginning of what could be another mini ice age like they experienced in the middle ages. \
I’ll trust NASA scientists over the CBC and their roll-a-dex of axe-grinders and special interest empty suits which fill their “expert” opinion list.

  8. ” The single beds are pretty firm, the wood and veneer detailing pretty ’70s, and the furniture would not be out of place on a 1980s CBC sitcom” – this is too good to be invented.
Up north you are just damned glad to be warm.
