  1. Not exactly sure why but I don’t believe I would give a pistol or rifle to anyone for Christmas. I likely would, if legal, give one for a birthday gift but not a Christmas gift. Maybe its just me and my firmly held belief in the separation of Church and implements of death. Yes I kill animals for food and have no problem with it but I don’t hunt or kill in places or at times dedicated to the worship of God.

  2. Joe – do you oppose implements of death like cattle stunners? You don’t really believe Nikki Haley was given this pistol because she wants to commit a strong arm robbery, do you? Perhaps she enjoys recreational shooting?

  3. Nice to see that she is unintimidated by the PC brigade. Most politicians would not have announced it. Maybe I should consider SC for my retirement winter home in a few years.

  4. … “and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.”

Note: I looked, it doesn’t say anything about registering your sword, or a prohibition against assault swords, automatic swords, concealed carry swords, or swords with suppression apparatus attached to the end of it, or hunting deer with your sword, or if you need 10 swords in a magazine to take your deer.

  5. Well, I just hope that no CHILDREN are harmed by that thing!!!!
I can see Joe’s point, many Christians wouldn’t give a gun on Christmas. My Grandmother would have heartily disapproved. I’ve never known anyone who did receive one for Christmas. We usually gave a gun for a person’s birthday.
This Christmas, I prayed to Santa repeatedly for a Husqvarna model 1600 in 9.3 X 62,instead I got gloves, shirts, booze, chocolates, but no Husky.
Therefore,I have reached the conclusion that there IS no Santa Claus. Peer review to follow.

  6. I, myself, would love to get a Tavor rifle for Christmas. Anything that makes leftists tremble with illogical fear is a good thing.

  7. I’d say she’s been good. That’s a pretty nice pistol, wonder what caliber she got it in, 9 or .40. Regrettably, unless you have a Prohibited Weapons status on your PAAL, you can’t buy one or even receive it as an inheritance. 4″ or less barrel length is classified as a Prohibited Weapon. Nasty buggers!! Ruled out all of the common 4″ barreled pistols.
Giving guns at Christmas has been a part of my family Christmas present traditions but I was never allowed to own a BB Gun….you guessed it, you’ll shoot your eye out.

  8. Joe >
It’s simply a matter of perspective.
Some people see giving a loved one a firearm as the greatest gift of affection, materially speaking of course, either for self defence or personal affection for firearms.
Wish someone gave one to me for Xmas.
BTW, just got back from my local shooting range today, hadn’t been out there in awhile. The weather was great, my wife and I had the range to ourselves, so it twas a very nice Boxing Day morning plinking away at targets.

  9. Joe, I would dare say that your abiity to worship God on this day (..or any other) was won through force of arms.
Getting one as a present can only be looked upon as a gift that will help perpetuate that ability, if and when that time comes..
I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, in peace and freedom..

  10. We just need to change premiers period.
A corrupt Liberal government supported by an opportunistic NDP opposition.
It sucks to live in Ontario these days.

  11. In my view, a handgun is an instrument of life and love since I would only use one for recreation or in protecting the lives of my loved ones.
It certainly is a matter of perspective. Perhaps if you were a pacifist, you might not approve. I am a realist and my most solemn duty is to protect my loved ones. My wife will be upgrading her PAL to restricted status. She already has a Walter PPQ all picked out.
    Merry Christmas to all.

  12. Governor Nikki Haley stands tall compared to Premiers Wynn and Redford and is a real woman rather than a UN Puppet.

  13. My grandmother gave my grandfather a 870 shotgun for Christmas years ago.
In their 80’s it saved both of their lives as my grandmother used it to repel a home invader who was attempting to kill my grandfather.
Perspective is everything. Best Christmas gift ever I think.

  14. Got my first .22 for Christmas when I was Twelve I think.. Cooey repeater. Man was that old thing accurate. I used to plink golf-balls at 100 yards. Thanks Dad!.. Used to be able to walk down the street with that under my arm.

  15. SOMEONE has exquisite taste in firearms. HUGE fan of Beretta here, and I wanted a 95 FS 9 mm with a stainless steel finish. Sadly, apparently I was not a good enough boy this year and Santa did NOT leave one for me. LOL

  16. “Anything that makes leftists tremble with illogical fear is a good thing.”
    Heh
Believe me, even Christians, who know, respect, and enjoy guns and have the wherewithal(some gifts require somebody that knows somebody) give every kind of gun as a present at Christmastime or any time for that matter.

  17. So nice to see someone get a pistol they appreciate and get it legally by jumping through all the bureaucratic hoops. Wonder how many gangbangers received a similar gift with no paperwork at all. Or any appreciation for fine workmanship.

  18. Technically and legally yes you may but if you object to having guns pointed at you and being thrown to the ground and hand cuffed I suggest you don’t try it.

  19. I’m happy to report that someone in my family did receive a new shotgun for Christmas this year, alas it wasn’t me.

  20. The best Christmas present I ever recieved as a kid was a Lakefield bolt-action 22LR when I was 10 years old. I spent many summers shooting gophers with that rifle.
I now have many different guns, and I enjoy them all, but that first rifle I got from my dad is something special, and I will never trade it for anything.
