It gets better. Our government also pays some green energy producers not to do anything at all. We learned earlier this fall that Ontario pays some of its wind turbine farmers not to produce energy.

That is the thing with leftists.....they simply can't get their heads around the fact that many of their "great ideas" are really just hallucinations. And when they don't materialize the way they imagined, they blame everyone and everything but themselves. You see the same "mentality" in the U.S. with Obama. It really is a mental disorder.
You just have to admire the actions of our Kleptocracy, this "alternative" energy crap has been one big,long theft from the poor, to enrich the well connected.

in light of that , little wonder that they will spend money now,to prevent them..

Meanwhile, in the real world it has been estimated that increased crop yields due to more abundant CO2 has been good for about $5 Trillion since 1960 to the world economy.
Green tech and the environmentally friendly industry has to be the high water mark of North American crony capitalism - this is very close to fascist economics when private industry/business collude with government to propel a political agenda and in return get subsidies and tax breaks - in most cases the customer for their output is government or those ordered by government to buy their output.
It shows us starkly how far we have strayed from demand economics and free market capitalism. Green tech embodies command economics and manufactured demand through government edict. Sad but the green "revolution" travels on the maudlin base of the world's failed economic systems and most authoritarian governing models.
But they please Gaia.

Bumper crop in Canadian wheat this year. Largest ever harvest, but can't get it to market because CN and CP only supplying about half the cars needed. (Guess the other trains are too busy carrying oil. Say, can you put wheat in a pipeline?)
Thank God for the Canadian Wheat Board, otherwise those stupid farmers wouldn't know what to grow or how to sell it.

IF our hydro charges are based on 'outside' temps then doesn't that mean that rural residents pay more than city meters? And outside meters more than inside ones?
