AGW theory has been junk science bunk from day one. Climatology cannot assert the certainty they claim in predicting our chaotic climate. The certainty they express is about the same as gravity; no way that's valid.

They did a bait switch somewhere in the 90s. It was something to witness; because we care about pollution we should care about climate change. So that makes them the same thing right? Wrong - think about millions of tons of carbon monoxide and other nefarious pollutants spewing out of China affects "climate change." No it's about Canadian "per capita emissions" and the evil oil sands warming the earth by 1 millionth degree.

The protagonists flipped the lexicon to CO2 as a proxy for pollution, while successfully flipping the burden of proof over the skeptics, painting them as evil capitalists (except cool ones that is).

$Trillions later what are the results. On alternative energy - giant while elephant failures from trying too quickly to transition out of fossil fuels, particularly wind and solar, not to mention off shore wind, the white mammoth.

On pollution? Well Thank God China is leading the way. Not - powering an infrastructure for over a billion people primarily on dirty coal (the main AGW amplifier so they say), while exporting wind and solar technology doesn't cut it.

The climate. Flat as a pancake. I think the warmists are missing an opportunity here. They should claim credit for the 15 year pause. They didn't realize they were that good. So send more money folks.

This planet was much warmer and much cooler in the past than it is now. A past that didn't include SUV's or fossil fuels. We as a species are not causing the warming or cooling therefore we can not control it.

I would suspect a shift in strategy rather than thinking. I am part way through reading Vaclav Klaus' book blue Planet in Green Shackles.

In the book he talks about the birth of modern environmentalism and says it began with Ludwig Klages' essay "Man and Earth", 1913, and began to gather momentum with the Nazi's 'religion of nature' and the "Volkisch movement".

Just as we saw from history in East Germany, many former SS men joined the communists, and in Hungary, former Arrow Cross men also joined the communists, when the Soviet Union collapsed many dislocated and adrift totalitarian minded communist found a new home in radical environmentalism.
