John Peel was a British DJ and record producer who over the course of 37 years broadcast in-studio performances from a variety of musical artists on his BBC1 radio show. In tonight's Tips music, from the December 9, 1987 Peel Session, Icelandic group The Sugarcubes perform a five song set.

Thanks for putting me into the Youtube John Peel Show stream. The JP show was a late night 2 hour music program, and each night he had edgy bands playing live.

He started his career on Pirate Radio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonderful_Radio_London

Ah, those libertarians! Long gone. Now socialists run the show. All control, all the time. Plato would be happy (see Republic).

OK Not all Peel's guests were great. But memories, oh memories.

When Peel became legit, it was Punk Musik that ruled London. Later Two-Tone, but that was short-lived.

I suspect even now London has the most lively and diverse music scene.

BTW Why was jumping vertically a punk dance? Because the kids were young and the only way to see the bands playing from the back of the auditorium was to jump up.

The main stream media had me thinking these things were extinct or floating away forelornly on Ice Bergs.

Polar Bear Mauls 2 in Churchill Manitoba

Conservative government arbitrarily terminates a promising BC gold mine.

Harper: enemy of development.

Reading comprehension's not your strong suit, is it Lassie? The environmental review panel in the linked story =/= "Conservative Government". They are civil servants, probably unionized, and very likely with their own anti-development agenda, and appear to be toadying to the local Indian tribe. How many of them are CPC hires, and how many were Lieberal hires? I'd sure like to know.

In any case, the government, the actual elected CPC government, will have the opportunity to overrule this federal board when the time is right. More kabuki theatre.

Those are great links.

As for Chantal Hebert, whom Mr. Corcoran castigates, have a look at:

http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2013/10/30/it_may_be_in_nigel_wrights_power_to_destroy_stephen_harper_hbert.html

Specifically, go toward the bottom of her column to her reference to the latest Ipsos poll (hit to Mr. Harper's credibility, first poll since he became leader where the CPC is in third place, etc.) and have a look at what Ipsos actually has to say about its own research:

http://www.ipsos-na.com/news-polls/pressrelease.aspx?id=6302

Draw your own conclusions, of course, but it doesn't just seem to me that Ipsos's analysis and Ms. Hebert's characterization thereof quite align, really. Which point I make simply to bring Ms. Hebert's credibility into even sharper relief.

As for Mr. Duffy, another point needs to be made that I have not yet seen in print: he accuses the CPC of offering a "bribe"; and that would make him what, exactly? Actually, he tries to cover his tracks with a rhetorical twist -- he claims he was "blackmailed" into taking a "bribe". And that would be the first case of "you take this money or else!" I have ever seen.

This story has no legs.

FORWARD! ONWARD TO VICTORY FOR AMERICAN COMMUNISM!
Top generals: Obama is 'purging the military'

Describe president's actions as 'emasculating,' ranks now lack 'will to win'

“People I’ve spoken to would like to see the military ‘fulfill their constitutional duty and take out the president,’” Boykin said. “Our Constitution puts a civilian in charge of the military and as a result a coup would not be constitutional. You’re not going to see a coup in the military.”

Nevertheless, Boykin said the future of the military is becoming more and more of concern, since colonels who would be generals also are being relieved of duty, if they show that they’re not going to support Obama’s agenda, which critics have described as socialist."

"Figure 2: Professor Humlum carrying the expedition’s Remington rifle

Why an armed expedition? The island of Svalbard is infested with “warmers” (/sarc – the rifle actually for polar bears) . Note that the rifle wasn’t left in the vehicle. Poor visibility from falling snow meant that one may not be aware of a threat until you are directly upon it."

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/11/01/friday-funny-svalbard-revisited/#more-96634

There have been several human/polar bear encounters up there recently. I wouldn't draw any conclusions from it. Possible explanations are:
- random chance, and not statistically significant.
-bears are hungry because there is less food, or more bears competing for it.
- less scared of people because of more frequent encounters where they don't end up as rugs.

I have no idea what is the most likely cause.

Sounds a lot like me!!

And here is a shocker as shallow as this guy sounds you will start to see more and more men like him, as we slip away from god we get consumed by physical things. we search for perfection to fulfill an empty space in our hearts and minds to satisfy our selfish desires. rather than accept a beautiful godly heart we look for external things that would otherwise represent that beautiful godly heart.

Anyway at least he is honest. I am a different mind set. I wanted a hottie when I met her tight body nice hips big boobs. ect ect just a hard body well maintained but I wanted to have a lot of kids and get old together and not worry about the external stuff.

You dumb ass the federal environment minister simply put the plan on hold because he was not happy with the impact it would have on the surrounding fish n wildlife. you are such a dumb sh!t you know that LAS?

I watched and read the entire review and the project is simply on hold for awhile until the mining company comes up with a better solution for the tailings needed for mining . origionally they figured fish lake would be able to absorb the tailings with no impact ..however after a PROVINCIAL ENVIRONM,ENTAL REVIEW APPROVED IT ,THE FEDERAL REVIEW WAS NOT SATISFIED .

Yeah stupid harper killing mother earth he doesn't care !@LAS go pound sand you moron!

STOP. LYING. They fund them, they could end their power anytime. They choose not to so they are responsible for killing a wonderful mine project.

IOW, never. There's Kabuki theatre here all right and it's working to fool you and the other PMO palace guards.
