We Don't Need No Stinking Giant Mirrors

The American Interest;

The global solar industry is in shambles. Consumers can find Chinese panels for relatively cheap (though of questionable quality), but every step of the production chain is being propped up by government subsidies. American panel makers are folding, but so too are Chinese manufacturers, and Beijing's central planners won't be able to keep them afloat forever.

"That overeagerness carries an opportunity cost. Green idealism has set green energy back."

quaint way of saying "damn stupid"

Solar is a zombie industry ... dead but not buried. Windmills too.

But the GRRRRREAT thing about wind mills is that they will remain a large, highly visible blot on the landscape for years to come - likely for decades! - reminding everyone of the stupidity of the progressive, eco-zealot left.

"Daddy, what's that big tower over there with the propeller on it?"

"Oh ... that's an ancient relic of MY childhood, Jack, when many people were crazy ... but we rounded all of THEM up and are now trying to re-educate them in camps located in the high arctic ... they've been there for over 20 years now ... VERRRRRY slow learners."

Sorry we cannot use the High Arctic, these same people believe it to be sacred ground in their religion, that co2 is a pollutant and that carbon must be removed from their lives.
Too dangerously stupid to live, I say.
So, to improve the utility of these rotating monuments to stupidity, I propose adding a noose to each sail and granting these thieves, looters and their useful idiots, the solution they claim to want.
I will insist this is not "hate speech" nor making a death threat, as to the best of my comprehension this is what these people are offering us as a solution for their problems.
I say this because only they see carbon based life, co2 and modern life as problems.
Yet insist all must respect their delusion.
Or even better, wind powered electric chairs?

Mirror, mirror about to fall.

Actually the fallout from this eco-BS is yet to come.
This whole ponzi scheme has been a brilliant theft from the poor to enrich the rich and well connected.
As companies are driven out of Ontario by insane costs for electricity, jobs are lost and costs continue to rise, the real fallout will begin.
I guess those of us not in Ontario will get to see if the voters there will continue to reward thieving morons as their leaders.
It is not looking good, as the continued support for provincial and federal liberals continues to demonstrate.

It is the Toronto voters and other urban dwellers who continue to reward McGuinty-Wynne at the polls, McGuinty won exactly 1 seat in all of rural Ont last time out, Wynne is likely to lose this. A look at an electoral map confirms this, vast areas of blue with tiny pockets of red in the urban centres.
Rural Ont is well versed in the corrupt Liberal tie in with wind developers; federal Liberal president Mike Crawley is a prominent example. Ont is a classic example of 2 solitudes, conservative rural with an urban Liberal-NDP regime clinging to power.

Do like N. California, Martin - vote to succeed. Make a new province. NWT did it.
