Highly recommended: Angelo M. Codevilla's The War On Us.

From the comments:

"This is the culmination of the Left’s assumption of moral and intellectual superiority: the implication that all those who resist them, even to the extent of verbal disagreement, are therefore enemies to be destroyed. It could not have eventuated any other way."

How in the world can an unpaid-for apartment sit untouched for 8 years, with its dead owner inside?

Watch this news anchor, during a typical debate about America's problems, lose it!!!

It's awesome! Enjoy!!!

Children wearing sunscreen, religious garments at the root of vitamin D deficiency, rise in rickets: U.K. doctor
http://life.nationalpost.com/2013/10/29/children-wearing-sunscreen-religious-garments-at-the-root-of-vitamin-d-deficiency-rise-in-rickets-u-k-doctor/

We are letting children pop pills, rather than go out to play. And rather than trying to engage with and educate ethnic-minority groups about the importance of allowing their children to expose their skin to sunlight, we’re giving them a prescription and turning our backs.

While it’s a culturally sensitive issue, surely the problems associated with parents — mainly Muslim — who insist their children be covered up during gym class or, in some cases, wear a niqab or burka to and from school, need to be addressed.

The irony is that all this behaviour is driven by fear — fear that your children will be abducted; fear that they will get skin cancer; fear around the male gaze — and this has given birth to a very real, demonstrable threat: vitamin D deficiency.

"The War On Us" is a very good article and so true, as is the comment excerpt. The view expressed in the comment is nothing new, as Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, and other leftist totalitarian regimes practiced and honed to a fine art the methods mentioned in the article and the comment.

The WW II and cold war warriors never dreamed that the ideologies of the insidious regimes they fought against would win by stealth in their homelands.

I did enjoy it, immensely! I didn't think any anchor on MSNBC wasn't an Obama water carrier.

maz2 put up a link to this in yesterday's tips,I think it is worth repeating.

"Fontana, 63, wearing a charcoal-coloured suit and accompanied by his wife, Vicky, made no comment as Justice Ronald Marion said there was sufficient evidence produced in the two-day hearing to warrant a trial."

Breach of trust by a public officer
Uttering forged documents
Fraud under $5,000

Maximum penalties upon conviction are from five to 10 years in prison

The CBC and Globe both missed this story. Could it be because Fontana is a former Liberal cabinet minister?

The federal government thinks you should be forced to hand over your DNA upon arrest. All those 'baby step' to freedom you thought the Cons were taking? They only exist in your head.

Thanks, Al. I've started spreading this around. Maybe other SDA readers will do likewise.

"Sunday 13th October,

Dear Mum, Dad and Georgie,

It's very cold now. It snowed last night. The blizzard blew my very poorly insulated window open and I had to sleep wearing my hat. I'm nervous about spending winter here. I have a radiator in my cell but it's the Arctic breeze that makes the place very cold. I heard that from December Murmansk is dark for six weeks. God, I hope I'm out by then."

Al, that was great. It amazes me how the Dem strategist wanted to know, very specifically, what he was going to do about the problem (US economy bleeding money). When he answered the question - POTUS explains the extent of the problem, that he's reaching out to the taxpayer because Congress is dysfunctional - is asked "what are you going to do tomorrow?" How ironic, given this MSNBC Dem strategist certainly hasn't asked the same question from her political allies.

Typical Alynsky approach: take a screwed-up situation, expect a perfect solution from your adversary even if it improves the situation. Make your adversary "play by the rules" while ensuring you never have to.

That's why the US is such a mess right now. For all you who think PMSH isn't conservative enough, consider the Alynsky approach coming. We'll (NDP, Grits) screw up the country way worse, but expect Harper to offer a "perfect" solution, when common sense dictates none exists.

Bottom line, Canada is way better positioned in these tough economic times - the worst is yet to come folks and it's precisely the wrong time to take on debt given record low interest rates unless you can lock in those rates for decades to come. Good luck with that.

Arguing Harper isn't conservative enough while thinking any other politician will be is precisely wrong thinking, given the statist goals of the NDP and Grits.

You never consider the alternatives, LAS, never. That's why your criticisms are hollow.
