A lot of the time he quote/unquote "worked from home", which was sort of a shorthand - and people would say it sort of wryly - shorthand for not really doing much. He just wasn't around. Most of the day to day work was carried out by the managing editor of the Review, my predecessor, a great guy called Tom Pirelli whose actually going to be one of the assistant attorney generals now.
He's the one who did most of the day to day work. Barack Obama was nowhere to be seen. Occasionally he would drop in he would talk to people, and then he'd leave again as though his very arrival had been a benediction in and of itself, but not very much got done.
This is a president who set up a system in which he imagines he is relieved of responsibility. Someone else's job. Not his problem. Didn't know. Doesn't matter why.

Chancellor Angela Merkel has spoken to President Barack Obama to complain about allegations her mobile phone was targeted by the US National Security Agency, according to a report on Wednesday.

Obumble's "style" and behavior was known before the 2008 election - I recall it was mention here on SDA. Of course no serious investigation/vetting was performed so none of this was reported then. Nor is it well known today. Perfect...
The links at Instapundit are all must-reading. Several things become very clear. First, the President is truly a lazy dilettante. He exercises essentially no control over his regime, is completely insulated from bad news (which is why Sebelius testified that he found out "by the media"), and is truly, deeply intellectually shallow.
In short, ET was right, this is a complete narcissist on display.
Second, the GOP shutdown over Obamacare was probably unnecessary. As several of these writers note, Obamacare is collapsing anyway. And its immense failure will be manifest next year for the mid-term elections.
Third, Obama's attitude during the strategic briefings on Syria was highly indicative. Even the NYT can no longer deny that he is impatient, bored and detached from the most important foeign and military policy issue of the day.

If he's a hands off kinda potentate you wouldn't know it if you have been following what has been done from the Fed cabinet level - IRS, NSA, DHS, ATF, state dept. directed to openly molest Obama dissenters - seems pretty hands on to me. The latest revelations show how this administration is going through military command ranks getting statements of who is loyal to the government and who is loyal to the constitution. Recent disclosures from a navy SEAL whistle blower confirmed the military brass is being given a "litmus" test - asking if they would follow orders to fire on Americans in a crisis or mass gun confiscation directive under martial law. There have been command rank firings for not passing this "litmus" test.

Obama Care needed to be passed and rolled out to see what was in it and if it works or not...silly. The likes of POTUS and Pelosi really give a shit about the content or functionality of ACA, what's important is the ideological foundation it sits on. Even if ACA results in a net loss of insured Americans it will still be a success in the eyes of the left because their intentions were "good". Wait for it...

Obama has a hold on every legitimate branch of the Government.His people now occupy every important position , including the judiciary. Obozo is clearly bored with things he can't influence or anything that takes him away from his primary job of turning the US into the USSA. The commie connections in Barry Sotero's family are scary and someone really screwed up on doing a security clearance of an individual who's basically a self-declared enemy of the US way of life.
Curious how we never hear much about his porn-star mother? Every other US president has been accompanied by immense amounts of trivia about their personal lives, their relatives and family. We heard a lot more about Jimmy Carter's alcoholic brother than we've heard about Obozo's commie connections. No university transcripts, huge sections of his past missing and seemingly off limits to investigation, harassment of individuals who point out the islamofascist leanings of one of his brothers, etc.
Event his few publications are very hard to find on the internet -- an absurd paper on relativity theory and the US constitution of which Tribe was the primary author took me several hours of searching to find and download. In this paper, Obozo basically says that the constitution doesn't mean what it says, but because of "relativity theory" it is to be interpreted by the government of the day to assess the meaning that it has in the current temporal context. It's why he thinks he can shred constitutionally guaranteed liberties because in the post-modernist fantasy world words mean whatever the person believes them to mean and reality is a social construct.
That is certainly not the way that most patriotic Americans view the US constitution and the SCOTUS has ruled that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right to keep and bear arms. That is the only thing standing in the way of this narcissistic sociopath to become the emperor of the USSA. That, and the US military which at one time was a bastion of pro-constitutional thought but Obozo is doing his best to gut the military in order to eliminate anyone who is a strict constitutionalist and replacing them with queer sociopaths who have as little use for the constitution as Obozo does.
DHS now comprises Obozo's brownshirts albeit much more heavily armed than the 1930's version. Through a deliberate process of not allowing anything about the history of Hitler's rise to power to be mentioned (Godwin's law is just one of the examples of this tendency), people are unaware of the process that started with ordinary, decent, German citizens and finished with sadistic concentration camp guards. That process is at work in the US in the militarization of the police, the creation of quasi-military goon squads such as the DHS and in the deliberate destruction of the military capacity of the US military given the patriotic weltanschauung of most soldiers. Obozo is quite prepared to have the US military be completely defeated in order to carry out his totalitarian plan.
Obozo lacks the intellectual capability to plan this type of an enterprise and that means he is just the puppet for a group that prefers to hide in the shadows. This group is obviously very high in the US political class and is operating with little fear of having its long term goals thwarted. Why there hasn't been a military coup to depose the sociopathic narcissistic moron and leave his body hanging from the WH fence as a lesson to potential imitators is very curious. Likely members of the military know that there is more than adequate evidence at present of Obozo's violation of his oath to defend the US constitution to take him out. From the behavior of many of the politicians, it would appear that either they are so naive that they can't believe that anyone would be brazen enough to do what Obozo is doing, or that the NSA spying activity has dug up enough dirt on RINO's to destroy them politically. Given the social conservative straightjacket they voluntarily wear, likely a picture of them with a hooker in a hotel room will result in their knuckling under to a totalitarian rather than asking for extra copies of the picture to send to their wife and several mistresses (which is what one would expect in a non-puritanical society which accepted the aphrodesiacal consequences of immense political power).
History will not look kindly on the RINO's whose cowardice and myopia will likely cause a very bloody second US civil war. Hopefully there's a Lee Harvey Oswald out there who might spare the US that particular future path.
We should all give thanks for President Obama.

I do believe Obama is embarrassed by the glitches as Obamacare was his crowning achievement but he certainly doesn't care about the inconvenience imposed on others. That would take empathy which Obama clearly does not have.
