Not Showing Up To Riot Is A Failed Conservative Policy

I am the reason liberals believe their policies and ideas will work in the real world. I am the driven American entrepreneur.

Every time an entrepreneur accepts a directive from the government that will harm his chance of earning a profit; every time a roadblock is put up and the entrepreneur finds a way to adapt and keep moving on; every time a conservative curses the policy of the liberal but still keeps running his business and paying taxes... he confirms the liberal policy as a logical reality.

Excellent article. No School or University would allow it as a talking point as it goes against everything they teach.

The history of the world for the last 50 years or so is a story of business and individuals finding a way to succeed IN SPITE of government interference.

It cannot go on forever.

Wow. As a business owner, this absolutely resonated through every fiber of my body.

Showing up to work is a failed conservative policy.

"Though, in the beginning, this is exactly what we should have done. Instead of capitulating to the whims of governing bodies, we should have resisted as a unified front."

This is SO reminiscent of Solzhenitsyn's statement in "The Gulag Archipelago", " we should have resisted,we should have said stop"!

But without a Leader, people will just "go along to get along".

Alone, that's really all you can do.

When people ask,"where is the next statesman to lead us and show us the way", all I can do is smile, and feel an overwhelming sadness.

The communists have taken America without firing a shot. They have won. The Country has to hit rock bottom before it can start to dig it's way out,and there's still a ways to go yet.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

Unfortunately, the parasite has morphed into cancer. If you work around a regulation or subvert it (Bitcoin comes to mind), you undermine the machine.

Bitcoin is bullshit, and very likely a scam.

When a cashless society is promoted and put into effect, then we all become slaves to the state.

"...every time a conservative curses the policy of the liberal but still keeps running his business and paying taxes... he confirms the liberal policy as a logical reality"

Amen! Amen! Amen!

They're staying silent about something that they should be yelling about. And the reason? Plain old-fashioned yellowness!

Oh, they might grumble a bit in the coffee shops, and they might post their displeasures on blogs and forums, and a few even summon up a bit of guts and call Lowell Green and other call-in shows. But way less than 1 percent take any 'meaningful' action - like writing an angry letter to a politician.

And WAAAAYYYYY less than 1 percent of 1 percent has the guts to get involved in a protest.

Me, I know.

Who is John Galt?

ITT people who don't understand Bitcoin.

Good grief.

No Don, the commies haven't taken over. Far from it! And let me assure you, even up here in donut-gobbling-peace-loving Canada...those filthy socialists are on damned thin ice as are the pultritudenous pudenda'd political pustules that pander to them.

Consider: Obamacare is already a flop and nobody has had to pay for it yet. Ma and Pa Kettle are getting up off the couch and going out to rallies with those awful Teabaggers. Some are carrying assault rifles in full view to these rallies to make a political point. The truckers are talking of circling the wagons and surrounding Washington DC to let the patrons of the Biggest Little Whorehouse On The Potomac know that the jig is up.

No, a shot has NOT been fired...yet. But it's coming. Once that first shot goes off, the volley is not far behind.

Then stop showing up. Consent to a forced choice is slavery. If we want to exercise our freedom, we must withdraw our consent.

I am. As could you be.

Very Illuminating article which I agree with.
It will take a lot for the legarthy now prevalent in our failing democracies to fight the beast of the Government parasites. Run by parasitical socialist leeches.

I already work barely sustainable part time and don't pay taxes. Trust me, Galt might be my last name. :)

The best part is explaining it to people when they ask why I don't work more. "Who is John Galt? Why should I pay for things that I neither receive nor believe in?"

Not showing up for politics is a failed conservative policy.

Democracy is no more a system for getting good governance than any other system. Monarchy, oligarchy, democracy, benevolent despotism or tyrannical dictatorship, they are all dependent on the quality of the people who decide to get themselves into the governme. The only way in which democracy is superior, and it is kind of a big deal, is that in a functioning democracy you don't have to kill the rulers to get them out. Everything good takes effort to establish and to maintain. Real conservatives by nature are inclined to leave things and other people alone if they aren't causing problems directly. We tend to leave it all alone too much and for too long while the busybody progressives and parasites ruin everything.

A quote that is absolutely direct and to the point. We are ruled by our fears. It's through fear that government controls us, persuades us to grant them powers over us. And governments foster that fear because it reinforces their power. And various fringe groups foster that fear through various manufactured fantasies, like Alar in apples, cyclamates in soda, salt in just about everything, radiation in the water, CO2 in the air.

Thomas Jefferson was right; powers should be granted to government with deep reluctance, suspicion and a willingness to remove it from government at the first signs of trouble. Cromwell understood this when he sent Charles Stewart to the block. Robespierre and Danton understood this when they sent Louis Bourbon to a date with Madame. Sooner or later, conservatives become so oppressed by tyrannical government that there is no choice but to dissolve it.

HL Mencken was right too. "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary."

And just to conclude here, I'm giving a special shoutout to all those in this forum who called Ed Snowden a traitor on grounds of national security. None of you understood or understand what's really at stake here. Everyone who condemns Snowden is just another aider and abettor of tyranny.

"Every time an entrepreneur accepts a directive from the government that will harm his chance of earning a profit; every time a roadblock is put up and the entrepreneur finds a way to adapt and keep moving on; every time a conservative curses the policy of the liberal but still keeps running his business and paying taxes... he confirms the liberal policy as a logical reality".

Well then you know what you need to do, Tell your employees they are (sadly) on their own. Get back in the truck or wherever you started and take as much of your business off the books as you can. Sign up for Obamacare (if you can) and find a way to hide all that cash. It's your duty.

Canadians have understod this for decades, every year;"Productivity in Canada is falling".
What cannot continue will not.
After all, as the do-gooders keep insisting, government taxes behaviour it disapproves of.
Their example is tobacco and booze taxes.
Mine is income tax and production..
For years we have taken pride in going around these nitwits, now the cost of government exceeds the benefit of civilization, we are criminalized for avoiding bureaucratic fools and safety nitwits impede all productive behaviour.
What is now happening is destruction of the units of trade by the nonproductive.
But trade between producers will continue using units other than govt issued legal tender.
Legal tender my ass, government offices refuse payment in cash. Says all I need to know about the currency and their own assessment of the honesty of their staff.
The Kleptocracy has forgotten the golden rule and the host upon which they feast is drained and staggering.
As ticks drop off only when gorged, the demise of state sanctioned productive behaviour is a given.

>This is SO reminiscent of Solzhenitsyn's statement in "The Gulag Archipelago", " we should have resisted,we should have said stop"!

Yeah, I remember that part. Solzhenitsyn gives the example of a man who is the target of the NKVD who come to take him away. The setting Solzhenitsyn portrays is of a populace who uniformly assumes that if the Cheka comes to arrest someone that 'someone' is assumed to be a guilty party and so the people avert their eyes and go about their business, meanwhile the shocked target of the Chekists assumes there must be some mistake that will be ironed out in dues time.
In the example, Solzhenitsyn said that the man the Cheka tries to take wraps his arms around a lamp post and screams his innocence making a scene of blue bloody murder that gets the attention of everyone in earshot and embarrasses the Cheka who have come to kidnap him. The NKVD go away empty handed and the man is never in jeopardy again.

The necessary consent of the ruled is what the point is.

It's well on its way!!

Where to start? So many comments are so right, especially don Morris, sasquatch, cgh, and Oz.

Some of my relatives had a suitcase packed with extra clothes and underwear by the door. They expected that the Black Raven might show, but hoped that their fears were unfounded. Sometimes it was the guy at the end of the street, the next time a number of Ravens would come and a dozen families would have no father the next morning. They had nothing to fight with, besides no doubt it was a clerical error and would be straightened out by the next evening. And where would they run to. Now I look at old family photos with many women, few men.

I have read Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago and the commenters paraphrase his words accurately. Other authors also tell the story well.

I can not find the David Horowitz article that was mentioned a few days ago, but hopefully someone is able to find it. We should all read it again and see how it was done. They were smart this time. They did not fire the Aurora's guns at the Winter Palace and storm the city infrastructure facilities. It was slow, one institution at a time, all the while playing the sweet siren song, we will take care of you.

Excellent commentary re the quote from Solzenitsyn, posted by Sasquatch, Ken (kulak). People in this country (and USA) cannot believe the terrible truths in the Archipelago Gulag books written by former Communist, Mr. Solzenitsyn (few people wade though the pages and pages of misery with no end to the constant misery; no help, no hope).

I do know that the people of Russia did not cave like a cheap cardboard box left out in the rain (as NA has done, IMO) they fought! Also, Russia had been bled blue in WWI before the evil Lenin was sent in by the Germans (in an armoured railroad car) to destroy Russia. Lenin commenced terrorist actions at once, his brand of horror cowing even war hardened soldiers. Still, men and women fought on for four years. During and after the Civil War, msm in the west did not condemn Lenin and his thugs or the sadist, Joe Stalin 7 his thugs, rather; they sent those evil terrorists money and food! Just as we did to Commi China, prolonging the slavery of the many and ensuring the totalitarian reign of the evil few.

Thank-you as always Ken for keeping this site grounded in reality. I have learned a great deal from your posts. Yours is important information because people who do not know the evil of Communism tend to like the 'idea' (free stuff from the 'rich' people), if the lazy and yellow get a heads up on what the Commis do with their 'useful idiots' they may reconsider and stop brainwashing the kids and the gullible.

Yeah well, I figure it's something like sheep and wolves.

The wolves rely on terror to isolate individuals.....but the commi wolves are ultra alert to the goat or ram in the flock which will attack....and lead the flock into a counter attack.

Sheep will panic and flee but properly lead are a potent and lethal menace in a counter attack.

IMO this why Breitbart had his cardiovascular accident.....and the driving motive behind the "anti-gunners"...

Which is why we need to institute a tax on do-gooders, preferably 125% of their income or known wealth.

I do agree, sasquatch; A. Solzenitsyn was a Commi general prior to his arrest and torture by the regime he had spend his life protecting. Like Breithbart, Solzenitsyn was a very effective voice for the anti state slavery voices because he too was an evil insider turned good guy.

We need some goats/rams and some loyal, honorable, courageous border collies. As Occam has warned there is big trouble in the pipes. We will need good help and helping the patriots in the USA to rid themselves of the (A)bomination foisted on them is crucial to our survival as a soft spine democracy. We need more foxes (like Ezra) in the bureaucratic chicken coops to keep tabs on waste and corruption that tend to thrive in places where too many are roosting in too small quarters.

Property rights. Canada must have the absolute right to own property restored to our Constitution (as in the BNA Act dating back to 1066 in England - Magna Carta). If the citizens of a country do not have the right to own property they have no power whatsoever against an invasive state. People who do not have a dog in a race don't care about the race or the results of the race. Why 'buy' something that cannot ever be yours?

Example: A pub 'owner' allows smoking in his bar because it is good for business and happens to enjoy smoking himself. Pub owner is the bartender and runs the bar himself....we all know what happened to these people; in Canada 'not' the true north strong or free - just riding on the coattails of a great PM - PMSH - and the patriots still living in USA. A homeowner cannot build a veranda on his house without 'state' approval, a rancher cannot kill and eat his own beef; yet a 'hunter' can shoot and eat a moose killed and raised on public grass...

I plan to walk with Joe Molner from Woodstock, Ont when this intrepid 80 year old is walking across Canada for Property Rights to be enshrined in that commi scrap of toilet tissue PE Turdo forced on the Canadian people calling it a charter of "rights" and 'freedoms' (a carbon copy of Lenin's charter for the Russian people, BTW Ken (kulack) has told us where that went). Turdos kid and his N Dee Pee crowd will never support any freedoms for individuals, esp. the right to own property - the Turdo/Dipper crowd are Agenda two one pushers.

The other way of disrupting the totalitarian state is to perform one small act of resistance daily like writing "death to statists" on a $10 bill or raising a stink at the cash register when one is charged various taxes on electronic devices in BC, making comments to no-one in particular how paying in cash will prevent the government from knowing one just bought several packages of flavored condoms, etc. The idea is to make people think about the totalitarian state more than they usually do. I have my NRA membership card prominently displayed in my wallet and have met a few other NRA members in cash register lineups this way. Wear a T-shirt with the message "Guns don't kill people, governments kill people".

I don't have a "smart meter" as I put a sign under my perfectly functional electrical meter letting the statist goons who were installing surveillance devices in the neighborhood know that I would not allow a surveillance device on my property and would take legal action for trespass against anyone who attempted to install a surveillance device on my house. I've helped people build Faraday shields around their electrical surveillance devices and next step is to decode the surveillance device packets and start flooding the system with garbage data. Perfectly legal to do as it's on an open radio bandwidth.

As far as paying with cash at government offices, any time I get told they don't accept cash, I point out the "this note is legal tender" line on every banknote and start asking for peoples names so I can write a letter to their superior of how they refused to allow me to pay. Also, I take photographs. I've been told "no photography allowed" to which I respond by pointing to the ubiquitous video cameras in government offices and ask under what authority those cameras are taking photographs if no photography is allowed?

When I get asked if I have any radioactive materials on me when getting onto a flight I answer yes, K40. Also, when asked if I'm carrying any weapons, I answer yes, my brain, feet and hands. To totally throw off statist robots, answer questions truthfully -- it also helps if one can think like a compiler given that parsing most official signs results in several ambiguous meanings. If you get asked if you're carrying any liquids or gels, give a figure of 60% of your body weight as "liquids and gels".

The problem I've found is that people are just too sheep like and if even 5% of the population engaged in a regular campaign of counter-harassment, then some of the sheeple might be persuaded to join in against statist idiocy.

In order to not get arrested, one has to not appear to be angry but very firm and simply point out the illogical statements that statist robots are making. I once made a cop lose it when he told me to go and sit down at a confrontation at a football game and I promptly sat down on the stairs at the stadium as did the 5 large guys who were involved with me in a heated argument with the Ottawa police. It was quite amusing to watch the other 2 cops with the guy who told me to sit down restraining him as he had totally lost his cool when I obeyed his command but not in the way he expected me to do it.

WRT the comment "I figure it's something like sheep and wolves."

Sheep haven't yet figured out that the wolves are now disguised as shepherds.
