About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Funny, the things ya learn when you stop reading the Globe and Mail and start listening to the guys that are actually involved in this and have skin in the game.
The liberal f-tards at the Glob are ready and willing to cuddle up to this new president of Iran like he is some kind of humanitarian.
Keep those F18's idling, Israel. Sadly, you are on your own this time...hopefully the Americans will clean out the Whitehouse soon.
Amen!
The Western powers are sitting around talking, trusting the smiles of Iranian madmen, as they continue to develop nuclear capability. Tiny Israel in order to save herself will also be saving the world from untold disaster.
Meanwhile, back at the farm, we here in Canada continue to trade with that most untrustworthy nation including foods. Ever try to find dates in this country that didn't come from Iran?
"...Ever try to find dates in this country that didn't come from Iran?"
John wants to know if he'd have better luck in Iran than he's been having on the internet sites.
In a burqa he should do o.k.
Justin Trudeau
Just for comparison.
Hey quit laughing he's an Ultimate Fisbee coach don'tcha know.
Excellent advice. This new president of Iran is well practiced in the art of Tacquia (sp), doing the two step, and the kumbaya crowd is falling for it.
Of course Israel is on her own. She always has been, and that's just fine. God is on her side, and he has delivered her enemies into her hands. She has buried greater enemies than Iran---or rather burnt their corpses and dumped the ashes in an unclean place shunned by man and beast, and their names never to be spoken of again except to celebrate the victories of the Lord over His enemies.
What has held her back is the cowardliness of her rulers. By rights the Star of David should have been raised in 1967 over the rubble of Cairo and Damascus, as a down-payment on the rest of her inheritance, a vast empire stretching from Egypt to Iraq currently squatted on by the tribe of Amalek.
The Iranian leaders know they cannot depend on Israel never getting rulers unprepared to do what is just in God's eyes, even---or especially---if the rulers of the United States give up even the pretense of taking Israel's side. That's why the Iranian leaders want a bomb in the first place---to see off Israel before Israel makes of the Islamic world a burnt offering to the God of Israel, the one God, using the power with which God made the heavens and the earth and of which He granted the use to Israel, for the precise purpose of destroying Amalek and all of Israel's other enemies, including the Iranians. What a terrible and wonderful day that will be when it happens.
So what is Netanyahu waiting for?
Just another politician with an agenda. Nothing to cheer about here.
I honestly think Canada is in a trade war with forces financed by Saudi Arabia and other OPEC producers. The basis for OPEC's domination of world oil is slowly deteriorating as additional supplies are discovered and developed. Canada's oil sands have the capacity to add 5 - 6 million bpd in a short time. In a world that consumes +/- 80 million bpd this potential is a serious threat to ME revenue and thusly the national security of some ME producers.
Combine this loss of oil revenue in the ME with the avowed aim of Sunni Islam to dominate the religious world and a recipe for turmoil. IMO Canadian awareness of this potential probably exists in the upper reaches of government and CSIS but is not a dinner table subject. It should be! Canada's economy is driven by materials export. It has provided a very affluent lifestyle for the majority in this country. It is that very wealth that has supported a social safety net that so many Canadians take advantage of. The real world is not so nice.
I am now viewing Iran as a potential ally in my perceived trade war with Saudi Arabia and OPEC. Yes the Iranians had a revolution and tossed out a USA puppet. Today's reality is that it is only the Iranians who can counter the regional influence of the Saudis and Sunni extremism. It was not Iran who invaded Iraq but a USA supported Sadam Hussien. It was not Iran who used gas in that war but the Iraqis. The Iranian nuclear program is understandable in the light of their history over the past 35 years. In a perfect world Assad will win in Syria and the Iranians will form a regional challenge to the Saudis. The USA will step back from their support of the Saudis and let a balance exist. For this to happen the flow of Saudi money into North America to buy politicans and groups who favour their goals has to be exposed.
The ideal situation for Canada is lost ME oil production through whatever means. If not lost production then a perception by oil consumers that Canada is a safer long term supplier. The utter lunacy that this debate has to take place is proof enough that the effort to sabotage Canadian production exists. Again, this should be the highest national security issue that Canada is facing today.
Say what you like about Isreal. He declared war on Iran, and God willing,he will follow through.Problem is,the rest of us will not acknowledge, nor appreciate, he has saved the world from feed bag and diaper wearers.
Some comments from the home front
Amalakites (?) are human beings.
One has to wonder whether OBAMA has the resolve of, let's say, Ronald Reagan would have held, in regard to backing Israel against Irans' Nuclear threat.
Funny you should say that. Here's his new heart-throb:
http://i.imgur.com/4eqo5Nd.jpg
Daniel Pipes has made a very succinct comment: Forget Syria, Target Iran, after all Iran is the chief state sponsor of terrorism. Victor Davis Hanson believes that nukes in the hands of Iranians are not a problem. The Shi'ite mullahs are the problem.
Yeah well.....the muzzies do really seek peace....
The problem is their notion/idea of peace.....according to the kuran when all the world is converted to Islam or dhimified....then there will be peace...until then non-Islamic lands are the land of war.
No compromise!
You're a sick, sick man, Snag...
Of course, it doesn't really work that way. When they lack anybody else to fight with, they fight among themselves. More muslims are killed in muzz-on-muzz violence than are killed by "infidels". Reminds one much of the Orcs in Tolkien's novels.
L "Amalakites (?) are human beings."
Past tense, please. "Were."
great speech. Does he mean it though? I don't trust any Politicians. Most are opportunists not leaders.
Last I checked international Islamic Jihad is directed by Sunni Muslims through Al Queda not Shiites.

Netanyahu got knocked out at the UN
// In an arena by governed rhetoric, how is it that our rhetorician of a prime minister and savvy hasbara people have us standing in the corner, like the rejected child of the United Nations
[...]
Rhetoric is the tool here. And here is some of Rohani’s rhetoric: “I propose a decisive step. I urge all states to take the steps that will guide the world in this direction. We need to think of a new coalition of peace throughout the world, instead of ineffective coalitions of war. I say this clearly, that peace is within arm’s reach. We should unite forces and create a wave of opposition against violence and fanaticism. The Iranian nuclear program must be for peaceful purposes only. I declare: That was, and will continue to be the goal of the Islamic Republic. Nuclear weapons have no place in the context of Iranian security and our defense doctrine.”
And how has Israel responded to this rhetoric? Israel has created fake Twitter and LinkedIn profiles http://www.haaretz.com/news/national/.premium-1.549293 for “the real Rohani.” Israel is paying hundreds of employs to sit and bang away at their keyboards in a new hasbara social media combat unit. Israel came to the conference without a functioning foreign minister, because it doesn’t have one – they’re holding the portfolio for Avigdor Lieberman, who is under investigation for official corruption. Instead Israel sent Strategic and Intelligence Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz. And what did Steinitz have to say about Rohani’s speech? That it was a “charade.” He said this of course after not hearing the speech – as the prime minister ordered him and the rest of the Israeli delegation to leave the room before it started. //

Hezbollah is Shiite.
Ah yes - Ha'aretz, the Palestinian news in Hebrew. With a little more effort, the Israeli liberals are likely to find themselves extinct, unlike their American counterparts.
Look kiddies, a weapons program such as Iran's represents a major commitment, perhaps the major commitment. It isn't going to be given up casually.
For my taste, Benjamin Netanyahu talks too much, and bombs too little. I hope that this time he means it.
Exactly, but I expect taht they know exactly when the optimum time will be.
i do not think a nuclear capable iran is the way to go - so what? i'm prepared in an existential sense for fireball finalities since forever (aka duck and cover school newsreels) and i assume they (iranians) are prepared for glass bowl consequences too - so what?
this can be described as a bet on the outcome of the film "shootout at the ok corral." in all of its versions. except that the earps and doc holliday are now wearing yamulkahs. the iranian regime has no practical experience (save sanctions) in international relations and they are playing with fire. i pray for peaceful resolution. i will not mourn the defeat of evil.
