The generally accepted version is that he knew nothing of the scheme. The only crime Nixon apparently committed was failing to roll on his friends. The only question of the day was Who knew what, when? A lot of ignorant pig liberals actually believe that Nixon was directly involved but reason says it was below his pay grade and there is a complete lack of evidence. On the Watergate Tapes Nixon responded by saying "Who authorized it?"

Just another Washington example of "rules for thee but not for me". No different than the exemption from Obamacare for Congressmen and their employees.

They really do need another political revolution to turf the entrenched special interests that infects their entire political class.
