Via"The truth is that the threat we face is not an abstract concern for the future. It is already upon us and its effects are being felt worldwide, right now. Scientists project that the Arctic will be ice-free in the summer of 2013. Not in 2050, but four years from now. - John Kerry, 2009

About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I think John Kerry should sail his tax and duty free Sail Boat to the North Pole, seeing there is no ice, and drop anchor and lay in the Polar sun for a few days, or eternity.
Kerry: It was the oceans, I tell you, the oceans. They trapped heat there we didn't factor in.
Q: That seems strange given the oceans store vast amounts of CO2, many times the entire manmade CO2 output. Doesn't the whole AGW hypothesis fail if levels of natural CO2, especially on oceans are not understood, considering their effect on climate?
Kerry: What's your point, your question seems irrelevant. Are you some kind of wacky Chriiiiistian fundamentalist? Which oil company do you work for? You don't believe in giant overbearing government do you? What now are you going to say I exaggerated my Vietnam military service? How dare you deny Gaia, she sent us you know - to save the world by killing off, I mean saving, humanity.
I am guessing one would not catch Dock Tour Dave Suzuki in his yacht in the arctic. He knows the difference between ships and shinola.
If he looks a buffoon, talks like a buffoon etc.
Perhaps he could have avoided even more taxes if he took his yacht up north,

But then again, it might turn out to be an unwanted extended vacation.

Last time I checked, August was a summer month.
As bugs would say, what a maroon!
If we have yet another winter this year like last till June. We will be fighting off polar bears.
Oh crap, and all the time I thought you were talking about John Quincy Adams!
Some of the comments at the link refer to China's mass production of "green" energy, solar panels and windmills, as though that Nation was leading the way to save the planet.
I suppose the naive dears didn't realize China was producing those green thingies for export to suckers like the EU and USA,while at home building COAL fired power plants.
Meanwhile, back here in Canader,BC has signed on to a carbon reduction plan with California,Washington, and Oregon. Prom Queen Christy says we have to take climate change seriously, and it won't mean more taxes.
Of course not.
A Danish-American ship, the Nordic Orion, did navigate the passage with a full cargo this summer. Better technology, a good pilot and more horsepower were all vital.

FACTS!
We don't need no stinkin' facts!
We have computer models, they are so much better.
More re the cargo ship:
"Travelling with a Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker,".
Why was the icebreaker along for the ride?
Breaking a path through the ice pack for the cargo ship, no?

The ice breaker is not pictured here:

You believe John Kerry reads this blog looking for your questions to him?
north of 90
up yer meds me boy, up yer meds!!!!!
The new replacement religion does not need facts.
I expect he googles his name every day or so, yes.
Hmmm. Hmmm. Hmmm
I'm looking forward to sending this one along to my daughter. Since 97% of scientists and 100% of her friends say global warming is an imminent danger, she's all over it like, well, snow on arctic ice.
I send her tidbits demonstrating how uncertain the science really is and she responds that she'll "check my facts". Of course she never does, because that would rock her world view.
I figure a few more of these will at least produce some cracks in her unassailable confidence in the lefty narrative.
Where in the world do we get the idea people like Kerry are smart ? Born with a silver spoon in their mouth ? Yes. Connections ? Yes. Gift of gab ? Yes, but smart ? Not that often. Just as easy to brainwash them as their supporters. If they were all that smart they wouldn't need umpteen speech writers, advisers, handlers or tele- prompters. Look at St.Suzuki fielding questions in Australia. He came across as dumb as a stick. Why ? Because he's dumb as a stick but soaked in his own cool aid. Obama still thinks CO2 is a pollutant. If he did even minimal research he would know he was wrong. You can go up and down the list of politicians and find a vast void in critical thinking. Smart ? Only when it comes to feathering their own nests and giving lip service to whatever the howling masses demand to insure the next election. The money and ulterior motives behind the seat of power is usually much smarter than the puppets that are elected. Nancy Pelosi.... oh hell I won't even go there.
Well said.
Canadian icebreaker Louis S. St-Laurent "blazed" the trail for the Dane's Onion.
Ice worms not harmed.
The blather re "ice-free" Arctic is Red-Green propaganda via legacy media.
Reality rules in the Arctic.
...-
"When the Danish-owned Nordic Orion became the first bulk carrier to transit the Northwest Passage, it relied on an escort for part of the route by the Canadian Coast Guard’s most capable icebreaker, the Louis S. St-Laurent."
"... the 45-year-old Louis S. St-Laurent is one of only two Canadian icebreakers capable of making sure the 1,450-kilometer (900-mile) trip can be done safely."
