Four Blood Moons

"It's really getting harder to sleep through this."

A couple of nice old ladies came by recently from the "Jo-Ho", as Archie Bunker used to call them. As usual they didn't take long to mention the "end times" as they are taught to because it's supposed to make you fearful and thus turn your thinking to the meaning of life and hope in a hereafter. I told them not to get too concerned about "The Last Days" because most people will miss it or have already missed it. Because we all get our very own individual last day. Look both ways before you cross the street.

It is also written: "You know neither the day or the hour." Anybody who claims he does is a liar and a false prophet.

Next year Israel may again be at war with Amalek? Israel is always at war with Amalek, and will be till the Lord returns. And He will return when it suits Him, not the stars.

Apparently blood moons also help sell books...

Prophecies concerning the children of the night are always given in moons.

Prophecies concerning the children of the light are always given in days.

from the comments

"The first day of Chanuka is 25 Kislev; this year it comes as early as it ever can, and this year it just so happens that the First Night of Chanuka coincides with the fourth Thursday in November, which is abnormally LATE this year. So the first night of Chanuka also happens - a once in a lifetime occurrence! - on Thanksgiving Day in the USA."

Thus the "Obama-Nation(tm)" will have to find 'kosher Turkey' on the Hunter's moon 2014!

But fear not its not like "Santa Claus joined the Mafia"

But the wise know the season...

Mat 24:32 Now learn the parable of the fig tree; When its branch shall have become already tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye get to know that summer is nigh:
Mat 24:33 So ye also, when ye shall see all these things, know that He is near, even at the doors.

There are a lot of prophesies heralding the Rapture that aren't even close to fruition yet.
Some people have been cherry picking prophesy for a long time, but prophesy has to be taken as a whole not "here's one that looks scary and close to coming about".

"Because we all get our very own individual last day."
~theTooner

Yep. That's the proper outlook, theTooner gets it.

"...And He will return when it suits Him, not the stars."

Indeed, if God is God, then it follows that He does not make His arrangements to suit the stars, but rather they are arranged to suit Him.

There are a lot of prophesies heralding the Rapture that aren't even close to fruition yet.

Speaking of cherry picking, there is no rapture. That was a satanic dream by one Margaret McDonald in 1830. John Darby popularized it.

Well, we do not know what will happen next year or the year after, but we do know that there is a major confrontation building fast in the ME. Best be ready, mentally and otherwise.

You follow men, I'll follow God's Word, thanks...the parable of the wheat and tares says the tares are gathered first.

Oh dear it would appear that someone's cheese has slid of his cracker. Not only has he gone back in time to experience a subjective observation he has traveled to the future and witnessed similar events yet to come.

Sorry to disappoint all you doomsday seekers but the Son Himself said He didn't know the time, as setting the time was the sole prerogative of the Father. That being said this does NOT mean that we should not be prepared. Rather it means that as humans we need to keep doing the things that humans do to the best of our ability until we are transformed into that which He called us to be.

It is also written: "You know neither the day or the hour." Anybody who claims he does is a liar and a false prophet.

1Th 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 ... When they ... say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, in order that that day should overtake you as a thief.

We had a half dozen "blood moons" back in August. Course, round here we call them harvest moons.

Reminds me of the story of the guy who was relaxing one Saturday morning when his doorbell chimed. Opens the door to see a couple of JW missionaries. With nothing pressing, he invites them in and offers coffee which they refused. Once everyone was seated he asked "What would you like to talk about?"

"We don't know - we never got this far before."

Thank you, Stradivarious - you go to the top of the class.
For the rest of you: file that for later review.
I, for one, don't plan on missing it.

me, I like Jay DoubleU's, they don't stick around here too long, they don't feel safe:-))))

and good ole' Chis the Clombass is mentioned, or should I say Chris the Italian Joo:-)))

and as to the end of time, well I was assured it would happen by 1985, and if not, then by 2000 at the latest. Could some pleez inform me if 2000 has happened yet, cuz I hope I didn't miss the big event!!!!!

and yes I do think there is one hell of a good chance we could see a very big and destructive war in the ME, and possibly a world war of sorts:-))))

Christ was speaking to Jews as the King of the Jews with his parables.
Christians are not Jews, the Church was still hidden at that time.

That said, your earlier assertion that the Rapture doctrine was a satanic dream by Margaret McDonald dating to 1830 popularized by John Darby is clearly in error. I'll take your silence on that point as an admission of error.
I have amply demonstrated that the Rapture doctrine dates to the first century, at the very least pre-dating the 19th century.

So you aren't a pre-millennial *dispensationalist?
You need to study the Bible more.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15

Your Covenant Theology is too simplistic and unsound as well.
It confuses parables to the Jews about their place in God's Kingdom with the place of the Church.
You know that the Church didn't exist until the Holy Spirit was given in the 2nd Chapter of Acts, yes? Jesus preached His parables to the Jews, not to the Church.

It is clear from scripture that not only will the Church be 'Raptured' before the Tribulation in the 'End Times', the Jews(not the Church) will continue to live on the earth in the Land that God promised to Abraham. God keeps his promises and those Old Testament promises are to His chosen people, the Jews.

*references can be found on Dispensational Theology dating back to the close of the first century , in case you think Darby invented that too...

It gets a lot tougher if you read "God's War on Terror" by Walid Shoebat, and understand the dangers of the muslims that are already over here and to what extent they've infiltrated Western gov'ts.

Repeat after Uncle Phantom: "Correlation does not equal causation." There, that feels better doesn't it? Rational universe restored.

The day I start worrying about the phase of the freakin' moon is the day I'll know for sure I've gone soft in the head.

Oz. I agree with you totally that the Revelstion is written to the Jews and not the Church. The Church is not appointed to wrath, hence I believe the Church will be caught up before the wrath. I'm a dispensationalist as well but believe the Church, the mystery revealed by Paul in Ephesians, Philipians & Colossians began after Acts 28 ended. Those of this belief are considered Bullingerites, or ultra dispensationalists.

I always get a chuckle when people make a case that this such event or that such event is a sign of 'The End Times.' Many believed shortly after the crucifixion of Jesus that they would see the apocalypse in their lifetimes.

I have little patience for those who focus on how we are going to die to the exclusion of how we should live. Jesus said as much about how we will not know the hour of his coming - his focus was on one being prepared for it.

I don't know about anyone else but I am constantly amazed at the diversity in Christian thought and interest. Some focus seemingly endlessly on the conversion while others focus extensively on end times. Some are focused on evangelism while others are driven to try to understand Yahweh. Some are scholars while others are Spiritists. Some rush to be at church every time the doors are open while others gather with the brothers and sisters sporadically. Now if we could just get it into our little brains that we don't all have to be the same or believe exactly the same to be brothers and sisters in the Lord. An amillennialist is not bound for hell because he doesn't agree with a post millenialist who doesn't agree with a pre millenialist. I pray we can live in peace, love and understanding.

Lets put it another way - circular firing squads don't win many battles.

"Apparently, that’s why our Jewish friends keep a separate calendar. Good to know, right?"

So nu? It's worked for almost 6,000 years; let's eat.
:)

What people don't know is their are some prophesies that need to happen before the end of this Civilization occurs, or future ones if this is not the time. The harpaz is given no date when it will occur. Both the OT & NT have more to say about the Tribulation period in Prophesy that is in complete concordance than any period mentioned in the Bible.
Orthodox Judaism & Biblical Christianity have the same eschatology because of this.Only its Christians who think the Messiah to come will be Yeshua that is in contention as is the Rapture before a horrific seven years of slaughter( Daniel, Revelation) by a Monster of monsters with a Gobbles like Religious leader.
Signs are a dime a dozen when it comes to earthquakes, wars excreta. What Jesus mentioned 4 times as heralds of this coming age will be the sheer amount of false prophets, false Messiahs, lying teachers, People pretending to be Him . A blizzard of religious deceit.
Those signs are what make this a unique era.

Yup, 'when they say peace and safety, then sudden destruction shall come upon them'

'Jesus has come to take me away from the mean old devil...', that's always been satan's ambition, to take the place of God. Socialists play the same game...and people keep falling for it.

Jesus returns to find His bride whoring with satan. As it began in the Garden, so it ends...

Amo 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

Stradivarious. Indeed the famine has started.
