Gears, cables and such. So difficult to engineer.

Unlike nuclear weapons or medium-range missiles, North Korea doesn't have the technology to make its own ski lifts.

What you cannot invent you can buy on the open market. I understand that Pakistan was clearing nuclear bombs off their discount shelf when N. Korea was buying.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with retired NASA engineers. They said the USA knew that the Chinese were stealing data regularly and had over 2500 people sifting the info. They said they were somewhat comforted in the knowledge that the Chinese did not have enough depth within their infrastructure to fully utilize the info they were getting. I cannot wait until I meet these retirees this spring and ask them about the Chinese plans for an orbiting space station by 2018.

Speaking of the Chinese CT, how long before they come up with some copy-cat ski lift system?

yah, and the Dutch had Kan (father of the Pakistan bomb) working in a nuclear lab with full access and no safe guards, and thusly allowed the tech to be "stolen". Makes one wonder about these leftards.

Yeah that notion prevailed for a long time about nuclear weapons.

The vast investment to produce the fissionable material was assumed beyond the ability of 3rd world nations. The Chinese jumpstarted Khans Paki nuke by providing enough enriched material for 2-4 bombs.

There some merit to this notion....the Iranians are slogging along with their Manhatten project...it takes time.

No one is going to pay attention to you and pay you vast sums of money to shut down your ski lift development program.

"This is an intolerable mockery of the social system and the people of the DPRK and a serious human rights abuse that politicizes sports and discriminates against the Koreans."

I have to agree with Premier Kim, the DPRK social system cannot work without ski hills and lifts, just as our own Native Reservations founder because they have no on-Rez bowling alleys.

One would think that such a glorious socialist paradise would be in a position to instruct the rest of the world on how to make ski lifts.

Got that lefties? Is it the fault of the JOOOOOOS? Israelis? Christians?

Anyone could engineer a lift system. Not everyone could engineer a
safe system. As for the comparison with nukes, a nuke only has
to work once, and a rather high failure rate (say 5%) is acceptable.
I would submit that a ski lift which broke down once every ten days
would not be over-acceptable. And no doubt the Nork leadership want to
ski in safety.

Since it's likely that only the NK privileged will be eligible to use it, catastrophic failure might have some social benefit.
Yes, tourists might also want to use it; see first thought.

dragging or rather failing to drag the thickest leader since Baby doc Duvalier up a ski lift may be a blessing for all of us

This site is the best. HIL-ARIOUS. Thanks.
