    Notice the lead picture (below the animated GIF) shows huge wasps. Those later turn out to be queens; the wasps that do the stinging are considerably smaller, perhaps 1/2 to 3/4 the size of your pinky finger. Still large for wasps — but nowhere near the size of the queens.
    And for good measure, the lead section of the story blames it on climate change.
