Keystone Pipeline, Or, Godwin's Law In The US Congress

Dem senator: "The Keystone Pipeline decision has taken longer than it took us to defeat Hitler"

The entire 1680 mile Alaska Highway was built in one year. Of course there were no tree huggers or eco nuts in those days and we were at war. What we need is another war. Amazing how self preservation, industry and logic go hand in hand.

Is it bonafide 'tree huggers' that are holding this pipeline up or those with ulterior motives. I suggest forces are at work that include not just tree huggers who have been financed by big oil and the Saudis but also politicans who also receive money. It is most certainly not in Opec's interest to see Canadian production reach tidewater or to USA refineries in Texas and Louisiana. Some USA oil firms with no Canadian interests would also suffer.

The argument of buying oil from Canada who is an ally and a secure supply makes sense only if it is your oil being bought. It doesn't work for the Saudis or other OPEC producers. CSIS should be investigating all aspects of this situation. Harper has started to lift the charitable status from many of the groups operating in Canada. What CSIS knows should be made public. It is a national security issue that Canada be able to export oil internationally. Anything less is relegating Canada back to colonial status.

Obama keeps preaching that Keystone will only provide 200 jobs, which shows that, among many other things, he also knows absolutely sweet f*** all about construction.

Obama's pandering to the greenies is only one part of the equation,as "CT" says, the Saudis and OPEC are undoubtedly behind most of the anti-pipeline activists.

All true and well put, but the tree huggers are the "useful idiots" that are the front line and face of the resistance. There should be no taxpayer funded charitable status for any one or group that hinders the well being of the economy. All we really need is politicians with balls to stop this self mutilation.

meant as a reply to you but don morris nails it too

Obama has decided to delay making a statement about the Keystone XL pipeline. That is the decision, to do nothing.
No skin off his nose.

That's because Obamitler is a stealth dictator.

Obama is no friend to anyone in any resource industry, particularly carbon-based energy. I doubt the conspiracy theories because he has consistently been untypically open about his plans (and successes) at increasing the cost of energy to Americans. He is anti-nuclear, anti-coal and anti-oil and gas. He will be vetoing a Bill just passed in the House to allow more timber harvesting from the National Forests (a money losing and virtually idled half trillion dollar resource). Obama acts as the imperial High Priest of the Green Theocracy.

If one were to plant a foreign agent in the White House with the goal of collapsing the US economy, you couldn't do any better than Obama. He is either a true watermelon, drunk on power or a complete idiot unaware of the consequences of his actions.

It's called Obamanomics - $4 billion divided by 200 jobs is roughly equal to the cost per job for his failed green policies. Maybe he asked Dalton McGuinty about the math, it's similar

This is exactly what is going on, and PM Harper should pull the charitable status of more of these political lobby groups, domestic and foreign, masquerading as charities.

He is COMPLETLEY aware of the consequences....they are exactly what he is striving for.

Exactly. His backers have extremely deep pockets. Obama was groomed for this role.

An interesting read, this:

------------------

The story is given credibility by a November 1979 column by Chicago Tribune columnist Vernon Jarrett with the title: “Will Arabs Back Ties To Blacks With Cash?”

The late Vernon Jarrett was the father-in-law of Valerie Jarrett, who would go on to become Barack Obama’s closest friend and White House adviser. Mr. Jarrett was was a former Chicago communist and a colleague of Frank Marshall Davis, the former Chicago journalist and Communist Party activist who moved to Hawaii in the late 1940s and years later befriended Stanley and Madelyn Dunham and their daughter Stanley Ann, mother of Barack Obama.

Davis is known to have taken an active role in the rearing of young Obama from the age of 10 until he turned 18 and left Hawaii for his first year at Occidental College in Los Angeles in 1979. That was the same year al-Mansour was seeking Arab financial support for students such as Obama.

Vernon Jarrett’s column details how al-Mansour told him about a proposal he made to OPEC Secretary-General Rene Ortiz regarding a program to spend “$20 million per year for 10 years to aid 10,000 minority students each year, including blacks, Arabs, Hispanics, Asians and native Americans.”

These minority students would then migrate through the political system promoting Palestinian and radical Islamist causes. Al-Mansour told Jarrett that the program had been endorsed by Ortiz and other OPEC administrators.

Some good digging there.

anyone who thinks Oblama will approve the pipeline is delusional!!!

Rev, the more one digs, the more fascinating the 'Barack Obama' story is. Wheels within wheels.

I don't see why they don't abandon keystone and gate way and build a pipe line to Hudson bay. What they save on expensive pipe lines they could use to build a couple of ice breakers. Even the pipe line going east is not for sure. This way they could get world prices for all their oil.

I was thinking from the oil revenue point of view but Islam never seems to be far away from the overall equation. Militarily the Arabs have not been able to snuff Israel out and a 5th column effort makes a lot of sense since it would not take a lot of money to finance it.

I agree that there appears to be more behind the Obama story than a wannabe social worker. It makes me wonder why opponents have not dug up more stuff.

Obama's masters fund the lawyers and system that have kept his personal information buried. I think they've snuffed out some lives, too. (JMO.)
