University of Wisconsin (Madison) doctoral student Jason Morgan writes an email to his Graduate Director - and cc's it to various news outlets - explaining his disinclination to attend any more diversity training seminars.

The institutional left owns the culture and public education. Universities now reverberate with the sound of mandatory goose-stepping of the jack boots of political correctness with the only diversity on display being the question of whether the form of statism mandated at the institutions is more fascist leaning than socialist.

True diversity only exists in a free market of private institutions. State institutions eventually trend to homogenization of current culture (eco-feminist left).

The soundtrack to doctoral student Jason Morgan's life will surely get shrill and shrieky.

Jason Morgan says it well and good for him. He will pay a price. Moloch is in control these days.

Our universities today are reminiscent of the Chinese Cultural self-incrimination period and similar to the Soviet style indoctrination in Russian universities for seventy years.

No doubt Toilet approves.

I'm sympathetic, naturally. But what would happen if a student were to go to one of these "diversity training" seminars, and attempt to refute the lecturer? Or even just to point out "you're full of crap" where required?

The all-whites-are-racist bull that poisons some of these seminars is the left's current version of Original Sin, and it is no more rational. In fact, it's racist itself. The oddball notion that only whites can be racist, which one sometimes comes across, is also racist in itself, obviously.

"Diversity training" is the biggest scam going. Unsurprisingly, many organizations don't want their personnel to hold and/or act on racist attitudes toward customers and clients, so one can understand the desire to put their staff through the seminars. But with the extreme left in charge, they usually go much too far.

Watch some of the history of political correctness videos; they give the Marxist philosophical background that has spawned these abominations.

Thankfully there still is a Jason Morgan or two still capable of leading the way back from the demagoguery of political correctness.

Dare I say it; the followers of the politically correct meme have been the force behind most, if not all, religious inequity over the evolution of civilization. The "University" was established to provide a safe harbour for discussion of inequity

Obviously there is a problem. Cheers;

When insanity is deemed as normal, only normal people will be singled out as requiring re-education to fit the mold. Many Universities are now insane asylums and Jason Morgan will be shunned for being normal and defying political correctness. Poor guy just learned you can't teach Japanese history without accommodating cross dressing queers and gender challenged freaks of nature. I need another drink just to mull on this.

Ken, I'v not seen Toilet for a while, there's been a few topics I was interested in seeing his "shitty opinion":-))))

I refused to go to these these training sessions just as they were becoming mandatory for all ranks in the latter part of the 90s. I had no intention of sitting in a classroom for half a day to listen to some effete tit tell us we were all racist, misogynist, homophobes.

It is all counter-productive snot and drivel - just another example of useless people doing make-believe work in a pretend job. It does nothing to cure a racist and can leave a non-racist angry and resentful for the same reasons Mr. Morgan describes.

Cue the Inquisition.

"Diversity Training" is nothing new. In the U.S. government service (at all government levels) it is mandatory for supervisors and managers. And it is probably required for all corporations (and in Canada as well). It's been around for at least 30 years. Initially, it was about avoiding situations which could lead to discrimination claims. That was the focus. Review of the laws and situational analysis was theme of the classes. A valid reason in my view. Dull, deadly dull, but necessary to avoid lawsuits. (It may surprise you all, or not, to know how lacking in people skills some managers are.) Perhaps the training has changed and gone off the edge. I can't say for certain. But I will say that self protection against lawsuits based on race or sexual discrimination is important. This letter should have been directed to those who hired the "Trainers" and those who reviewed the training materials. THEY AIN'T GONNA DROP THE REQUIREMENT TO ATTEND DIVERSITY TRAINING.

Well, there goes his intended career! He's probably being taken out to be executed as we speak. If his sentence is commuted his letter will be forwarded to any institution of "higher learning" he applies at -- well except perhaps Hillsdale College.

"Perhaps the training has changed and gone off the edge."

No perhaps about it.

"But I will say that self protection against lawsuits based on race or sexual discrimination is important."

Well, if the number of ongoing race/sexual discrimination suits and HRC complaints are any indicator, I'd say the "self-protection" justification for this training hasn't worked out very well.

Actually he commented yesterday, but I do not remember which thread.

I went to the link and saw this jewel on the sidebar:

I truly pity the people I know who are scrimping to send their kids to college. Every one of them comes home with horror stories of the crap they are being told by their nutty professors.

The opposite of university? Kate has it right.

State institutions are inherently, and automatically, socialist. One more reason that the state must be limited.

I am amazed and yet appalled that someone by the name of Morgan is allowed to teach JAPANESE history. Imagine the shame of the Japanese to learn that a Gaijin is teaching history. How can the diversity police allow this to happen?

This was sarcasm btw
