I would like some answers, too. Like why were those who worked at a navy yard not armed? Why are the shootings at Fort Hood not correctly termed as a terrorist attack?
I could honestly envision some horrible event where young Democrats wearing Barack Obama t-shirts were videoed beating up elderly Tea Party members and the Leftists would find some way to spin it to generate more funds for their Messiah. The Media Party would join in the chorus to support them.

One word. Inconvenient. If it doesn’t forward the agenda of the week, or it casts a shadow on some ill-advised policy, they won’t do it.
So, no armed sailors on base, no calling a terrorist “a terrorist”. Because, inconvenient.
Same reason there’s still a bunch of illegal smoke shacks and an illegal burger shack on the DCE in Caledonia. Enforcing the law (and the health regulations) would be inconvenient to the Ontario Liberal party.
So I’m with you, Osumashi. I already know the -real- answer, but I’m dying to get an opportunity to ask the question of somebody who can’t afford to say it. Just get right up in their face and say “so, why ARE there no guns on military bases during wartime? Hmmm? Come on, amaze me monkey boy.”
Look- I get very angry when people make Obama and chimpanzee references. It’s not fair. Science has shown that chimpanzees and their monkey relatives can be taught things. Obama, not so much. Please don’t insult these banana-eating creatures.

My guess is that ever since Clinton, Dem President’s have been planning to foist such bad(read traitorous) policy on the American people in general and U.S. military in particular that they can’t trust even the U.S. Marines won’t shoot them if given a chance.
It just wouldn’t be good optics to round up and lock up every firearm every time the Commander-in-Chief shows up at a military base/station.
