I rather read something more in the realm of reality by Homer Simpson than Jeffy who has been a bitter wretch since Harper and his Conservatives were elected to power. He makes no sense with such an accusation. Leaders have to lead, it has nothing to do with bullying, something the leftoids don’t understand.

Sounds like the guy is bitter because conservatives have something (principals) and someone (Harper) to believe in. Heaven forbid that there be principals to measure performance by. Hint for the dummy in Toronto: the results of the voluntary census don’t jibe with those from the mandatory long-form census, because when people are forced to answer intrusive questions under threat of being jailed, they WILL LIE. As a matter of principle.

My niece the schoolmarm was on a rant about PMSH this morning. I should have guessed she’d gone and subscribed to the Globe and Fishwrap again. She always gets Harper Derangement Syndrome when she does that.

The information can latter be used to persecute those groups Government does not deem politicly correct.In other cases for vote block info for elections. The long form was an insult. I gave up doing them years ago after submitting a 15 page report on abuses of them historicity by Governments.
I always filled in the long form anonymously.
Stats Can is upset about the long form because it was a major source of revenue to support their left leaning ideological agenda. If all the 200 “groups and organizations” were “unaninimous” in their outrage, so freakin what. Pay somebody like Angus Reid or some other polling org to gather the data. Why should I pay for your lobbying efforts against our duly elected government?
I can fill out a dozen page Statistics Canada form in 10 minutes. You just short cut it or make it up. As long as you do it they are happy. It’s not as if anyone ever checks. I’ve done transportation surveys by turning total fuel dollars spent into litres consumed then into km. driven. The stats are no more than 20 – 30 % out. Enough for the central planners.
A number of years ago, StatsCan told me to complete a survey regarding the activities of my business. I told them to get stuffed. They threatened me with prosecution, jail, etc. I told them to get double-stuffed. They finally went away.
I received the long census form once and after seeing the intrusive questions they asked, opted to toss it in the fireplace. They called several weeks later asking where it was. “Gee, I mailed it off, must have gotten lost.” They didn’t call back.

The thing about Canadian “Liberals”, and socialists in general, is that they think freedom is the right to do as the government says; to not be molested by the government as long as you obey the rules.
