The blog’s posting software went down last night, so no updates were possible for a few hours. Your reader tips are welcome here. I’m on the road for much of today, but I’m certain the guest bloggers will keep you all up to speed.

  1. Kate, I want the whole world to know that YOU Kate McMillan , NOW own the only known photograph of the ill fated James & Johannah Donnelly, Irish Settlers, murdered in the Lucan Ontario area on Feb. 4 1880 by vigilantes.

  2. Joe…that is wonderful. How did that photo end up in your possession?
    I saw the dramatic musical about the Donnelly family…very interesting story, unusual story line for a musical but it was well presented by the local university troup.

  6. We were moved to a new server last night. They missed the DBD::mysql and Image::Magick perl plugins. No mysql means no database. The webpages are mostly static so you could still see the site, just not comment or anything.
    The captcha is created with the Imagemagick perl module so it was deactivated, thus all the spam.
    I’ve gotten rid of the spam and am about to test the captcha.

  7. He’s following in his father’s footstep. He’s equally dullarly on economics, equating it with justice, but he simply lacks his father’s panache who was able to carry it off with an unwary public and weak opposition. He doesn’t walk into the PMO uncontested, as his father did and faces a formidable foe in Stephen Harper who has the left caught between hysteria, fear and loathing, pining for his eventual, hopefully soon, I heard a rumour, retirement.
    I hear Mulcair and the NDP want to run attack ads against JT, calling him “Harper-light.” Yes, focus on Harper, that worked last time. Mr Mulcair, might I suggest you call them the Bobbsey twins of Bay Street. Oh right, that`s already been tried.

  11. Not going to take anything away from the Bombers. The defence played inspired football and totally kicked the Riders butts.
    The Riders have been playing on accolades the last four games, it isn’t enough and yesterday underscored that. It’s gut check time for them.

  17. Thanks for asking, bluetech ….. I bought the James & Johannah Donnelly photograph at a Donnelly Memorabilia Auction in London Ontario on June 30, 1970 as Indicated in a London Free Press story on record, July, 1, 1970.
    On the Main Street in Lucan Ontario, there sits a Lucan Area Heritage & Donnelly Museum, built by the hard work and Fundraising efforts of local area residents, as a Canadian Historic tourist destination.
    I have opted to keep the Donnelly photograph outside the domain of the Lucan Heritage Museum, and whom should be the custodian and where in Canada?

    How dare he be so self-righteous about people who don’t mount solar panels on their roofs when he’s busy mounting anything in a skirt. His “lust demons” seem to have gone a long way to contributing to his wife’s alcohol and drug problems and suicide in 2011.
    Why would we listen to yet another can’t-keep-it-in-his-pants, silver-spoon-in-mouth, bull**itter Kennedy?
    Let’s see, there’s JFK, TeddyK, RFK, Clinton et al.: Sex addiction seems to be epidemic in the Democratic Party.
