I read Dawkin's so-called "defining" book, and it reminded me of the twaddle Bertrand Russell was want to write; childish and shallow. They should both have stuck to what they were best at; Russell for math and nudism, Dawkins for smuggery and a kind of science as yet undefined.

She doesn't strike me as that brave, so stupidity is the only answer.

And in any case, Dawkins was too kind. Most of their "achievements" were cultural fumes from the peoples they conquered.

Wherever muslims become a majority, women like her are not allowed. Does she not understand that?

I don't think she's stupid, I think she's just projecting. If there's nothing in her life that she feels strongly enough to kill (or be killed) over, then that means that very few others would actually be willing to kill over something like religion. If the majority of people look at the world that way she does (as projection requires) then of course there won't be any change when one group she considers strange religious people (Muslims) replace another group she considers strange religious people (Christians). Of course they'll be open-minded and tolerant, after all, she is (except possibly for Chimpy-mcbushhitler and other right wingers - it's ok to hate them all). It's a cosseted view that requires a lot of ignorance.

That's the thing about being stupid - you don't have the intellectual capacity to realize that you are stupid. They walk among us and scarier than that, as in the US, they are in power. Gives deeper meaning to "you can't fix stupid" and "going to hell in hand basket".

Dawkins's comment was true; it sounds like he was channeling Mark Steyn for a moment. Where exactly is the "mistake"?

The young woman is awfully cute and lively but added exactly nothing to the "conversation". Perhaps she might consider another career than journalism.

By the way, Dawkins always strikes me as the kind of atheist best summed up by George Orwell:
