According to this graph, it is still significantly below the average for the past 30 years.

The same thing with a bit wider range of years.

If you want a "scandal" read the note to this --

John, 30 years ago we were headed for a cataclysmic ice-age.

Toilet (John)

110 years ago the ice was receading so far they were looking for the NW passage to open up, but the ice came back. Yah no jonny, things like climate/weather tend to fluxuate!!!

Here you go John.

"Antarctic Sea Ice Chart- Inverted so that even alarmist scientists can read it."

Gotta love ridicule....

It's puzzling that your simple comment, which is accurate, should draw such hostile remarks, none of which really address your statement. I keep up with this on the WUWT Sea Ice Page and check it about once a week or 10 days. Everyone else can check as well if they're really interested. It covers both the arctic and antarctic ice.

What really gets people excited is that some consider sea ice a proxy for AGW (anthropogenic global warming). I'm certainly not going to debate this on one side or the other, especially on SDA. There are other more appropriate sites for this debate. But I will say that regardless of anyone's position on AGW, it's lame to argue with bare facts which neither "side" is disputing.

more ice in the Arctic? Funny how this type of news is never on the 6 o'clock news

I am 53 years old and here where I live we have had one of the coldest summer I can remember, yet this is ignored by the local media...

What this guy said.
