Agreed. It's my belief that the root of the socialist mindset for the "cattle" that support it is their: hatred of Competition.

The same people that vote for socialism are those who despise competitive athletics, competitive labor markets, achievement, winners and so on...

I believe that these folks are born soft, didn't play sports or get 'A's in school; and therefore begrudge those who did, and the monetary and professional benefits gained because of those early good choices.

I just sat through the entire Agenda movie, all 91 minutes. There is a wealth of information in it about the roots and tactics of the radical left. I think Antonio Gramsci is correctly identified as a kind of "prime mover" behind the strategies that are destroying the free world. However, the movie didn't go back beyond Karl Marx, to the real philosophical roots: Immanuel Kant and G. W. F. Hegel, without whom Marxism would not be possible.

I don't necessarily agree with every point though. It's certainly not true that every housewife who wants to work outside the home or every gay is an unwitting agent of communism, for instance.

If the movie is strong on information then it's correspondingly weak on solutions. In fact, to flog religious faith as the answer is to concede the battle to one's enemies. The entire leftist movement is based on nothing more than faith; there is nothing rational whatsoever behind its theories or its actions. It merely substitutes "society" for "God". Historically in practice, many advocates of the worship of either one were merely rent-seekers looking for power over their fellow men.

The only way to defeat the false philosophy that is at the root of political problems caused by leftism is with a true philosophy, and that has been provided by Ayn Rand in the 20th century.

Good points. Considering our way of life is based on the Judea Christian principle, if that can be destroyed it will leave society as we know it fragmented and rudderless. No such attacks on any other religion. Whether one believes or not is academic. The Ten commandments is what our law system is based on and being undermined with nothing to replace it except promises for a better socialist society. Those who understand and object to that are already being sent to the fringes of tolerance by the overwhelming leftist hordes that stand for nothing except to share in the spoils of plunder when society collapses. Right or wrong, warts and all , Christianity was the glue that kept society together in the western world. Not everyone believed but they did not feel obligated to destroy what others held sacred. That's the part that has changed, and when/if the battle is lost Islam will be the new force , and I defy anyone to piss in their cornflakes. As Stalin........useful idiots.

I wonder if any teacher would show this movie in any classroom. I, too like your favorite short video Peterj; it was shown on the website of Ron Paul when he was running for President.
