On that topic, the New York Times has just published a damaging piece about the shady Clinton Foundation and the fact that so much money comes in but it's always running deficits and the Clintons get richer. The New York Times! Wonder which leftists have it in for the Clintons and don't want Hillary to be Prez as much as Zo doesn't. Or (a Rush Limbaugh theory), perhaps the Clintons want this story to run now and then be brushed under the carpet as "old news", because they realized Hillary's Dem opponents in the next primary, or the Republicans, might use the damaging info about this "charity" in 2016.

The Pope and Obama are on the same stage in Yankee Stadium in front of a huge crowd.
The Pope leans towards President Obama and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!"
Obama replied, "I seriously doubt that! With one little wave of your hand....Show me!" So the Pope backhanded him and knocked him off the stage!
AND THE CROWD ROARED & CHEERED WILDLY and there was happiness throughout the land!
Kind of brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?
Yep *sniff*
The Clinton Foundation scandal just happens to be coordinated with the announcement of the made for TV mini-series idolizing Hillary. The scandal makes Obama look good; perhaps that's why the story was sat on until now-another deflection and distraction with some payback mixed in-all pure specualtion though.

"University of Ottawa suspends admission to journalism program"
"OTTAWA — Admission to the University of Ottawa’s journalism program has been suspended for the coming academic year after a damning report found the program to be “profoundly troubled” and even damaging to the university’s reputation.
The report to the university’s senate in May 2012, obtained by the Citizen, summed up an external evaluation of the program as “scathing” and recommended the troubled journalism program be suspended as soon as possible and that the university either close it or completely overhaul it.
The university has chosen to restructure the program, said English language co-ordinator Evan Potter,..."

"Failed climate models “the wound of climate science”"
"In its article, Spiegel calls the growing disagreement between model results and measured observations “the wound of climate science“. Spiegel writes on Vahrenholt’s claim of faulty models:
With that statement Vahrenholt bored into the wound of climate science: For 15 years the global mean temperature has remained stagnant, the computer models had not foreseen the warming pause. The models could not reproduce the surprising temperature trend, reported climatologists surrounding Hans von Storch of the Helmholtz-Zentrum GKSS in a new study. The probability that the simulations in this respect are faulty is higher than 98 percent. The climate catastrophe is refuted, believes Vahrenholt, who made his audacious claims into a bestseller.”
That German establishment-shaking bestseller is now coming in English in September: North America and UK. And there are discussions to have the book out in Polish."

"You could be forgiven for thinking the Pentagon hasn't quite wrapped its head around the massacre in Egypt and its implications for US policy, says Spencer Ackerman, national security editor at Guardian US:
Ever since the Egyptian military deposed elected President Mohamed Morsi, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has been in constant phone contact with his counterpart, General Abdul Fatah al-Sisi. After their frequent talks, the Pentagon summarizes the highlights; almost always, Hagel tells al-Sisi not to, you know, kill civilians."

"Misopaedia and the Insolence of Gay Monarchy"
"Today’s issue of depreciating childhood dovetails perfectly with my previous installment on infantilizing adults: both are reflecting a loss of the sense of maturity and responsibility in our Western culture. For instance, today every newborn is burdened with a four to six figure number of debt depending on his or her whereabouts ( cf. David Willets; “The Pinch – How the Baby Boomers took their Children’s Future-and why they should give it back”, Atlantic Books London: 2010, p.259, 269). Now the first dramatic example of instrumentalizing childhood was the Bohemian version of the Dreyfus affair. In Prague it was the Jewish cobbler Leopold Hilsener who was falsely accused of ritual murder. A little Christian girl called Anezka Hruzova had been found dead on the 1.4.1899 in Polna. And it was the first Czech president after gaining independence in 1921, Professor T.G. Masaryk, who made is name with the revision of the court indictment finally exonerating Hilsener. Nevertheless since then the West is drifting towards a gradual and not merely symbolical - think of child rape and “pedophilia”- reversal of the Abrahamic abolition of child sacrifice."

Thanks for the song, EBD. I remember this song in a different version:

The one you've posted is the original, done by an English band. This one is the Canadian cover. "Cover" here is in the strict or technical sense: the original was out and selling in England and other markets, but had not yet come out in Canada, so this version was produced and rushed out to get the Canadian airplay and sales. The Dublin Corporation were, as far as I know, a Toronto bar band, and this was as close to being a recording act as they got.
Back in the age of Cancon there was a small industry in Canadian covers; I remember Shirley Eikhard getting the Toronto chart action out of "Say That You Love Me" by Fleetwood Mac, and a rather good bar band called Shooter getting the hit out of Leo Sayer's "Long Tall Glasses".
Ah, but then the dinosaurs died and the glaciers melted...
