"University of Ottawa suspends admission to journalism program"

"OTTAWA — Admission to the University of Ottawa’s journalism program has been suspended for the coming academic year after a damning report found the program to be “profoundly troubled” and even damaging to the university’s reputation.

The one you've posted is the original, done by an English band. This one is the Canadian cover. "Cover" here is in the strict or technical sense: the original was out and selling in England and other markets, but had not yet come out in Canada, so this version was produced and rushed out to get the Canadian airplay and sales. The Dublin Corporation were, as far as I know, a Toronto bar band, and this was as close to being a recording act as they got.

Back in the age of Cancon there was a small industry in Canadian covers; I remember Shirley Eikhard getting the Toronto chart action out of "Say That You Love Me" by Fleetwood Mac, and a rather good bar band called Shooter getting the hit out of Leo Sayer's "Long Tall Glasses".

Ah, but then the dinosaurs died and the glaciers melted...
