Via a source in the Canadian energy industry;
... at least four crude IEDs have been discovered at Pennsylvania gas wells near the Susquehanna River. Anti-fracking groups are suspected.
I can't provide a weblink for this so keep an eye out for stories as they emerge.
Meanwhile, search "The Anti-Fracking Pledge of Resistance" and "Earth First!" for a backgrounder on this movement.
Emphasis mine.

All part of that "diversity of tactics" every environmentalist must at least tacitly support.
Weibo taught us everything
Any excuse for anarchists to create mayhem.
Paganism, the primitive worship of nature pretty much died out with the introduction of Judeo/Christianity, and the ages of reason, science and the enlightenment.
Unfortunately, it is making a comeback, along with it's practice of sacrificing human well being on an altar of animist mysticism.
I see from the links from Earth First that one of its symbols is a stone axe.
It is time (actually long past time) to declare many of these ecofascist groups as terrorist organizations and deal with them accordingly.
I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened before given the intensity of the eco-fascists' war on fracking. Or has it?
A friend of mine works as a legal secretary and I remember her telling me that the most dangerous threats came from farmers who were losing their land. Divorce and child custody cases were a distant second. Fundamentalist environmentalists do have a history of sabotage but a threat to someone's livelihood can be a powerful motive.
OTOH, activists have been more active lately -gmo haters, animal rights and anti-frackers in the UK. Hopefully not a continuing trend.
They can see their watermellon scam coming apart at the seams and its making them frantic. Mental illness at work, methinks.
Not really, Phantom. Earth First invented tree-spiking, blew up carlots and set fire to suburban developments under construction. Arson and sabotage have been their way of life for at least the last 25 years. It's not new, this is just their latest target.
Maybe time to seek out sniper calibre sportsmen, ya know, all inclusive hunting packages. Regretably, accidents happen occasionally.
Obama voters.... no doubt.
Would twenty-fours in a drunk tank cure these would-be terrorists of things they could get sent to prison for?
These people are regressive and crazy.
I got to see and chat with two fabulous speakers on Sun News' Freedom Cruise, Dr. Patrick Moore and Magdalena Segieda, (one of the directors of Fracknation). Their stories are incredible. And the eco-loons are loonier than most people know. IEDs are easily within the repertoire of the radical greens. They are anti-civilization, anti-technology (except as far as it benefits them, of course) and ultimately anti-human. Unfortunately the old orthodox media are all too happy to spread their special brand of deceit and make apologies for their excesses.
The best funded anti-fracking group I can think of is the Royal House of Saud.
Of course they don't have the gas well bombing practice of our own RCMP or the 25 year eco-terrorist experience that cgh mentioned earlier./
I guess we'll just have to wait for an arrest to really know for sure.
You could make a pretty nifty repeating gallows from a pumpjack.
What would probably work to eliminate this group of terrorists would be a physical instantiation of the online honeypot. Create a Potemkin village of buildings out in the wilderness with signs like "Fracking research center", "Genetically modified organism testing center" and "Live animal cosmetic test product facility". Make sure there's several layers of high fences topped with razor wire. Such a location would be more effective in causing aggregation of terrorist watermelons than pigshit is at attracting flies.
Those watermelon terrorists that survived the electrified razor wire topped fences would come upon empty buildings; the only question remaining is whether one live traps such vermin and relocates them to N. Korea, or whether one makes use of the SSS method which more and more people in this area are using to deal with problem bears. Personally, I'm in favor of the latter approach as the N. Koreans might send the deranged watermelons back.
Eco-terrorism = energy self-sufficiency destabilization.
I doubt this scum would be working for the "Big Coal" interests (maybe green tech) but I think anyone twisted enough to do something like this is driven by self-destructive ideology and is a dupe for anti-American interests - Saudi Oil perhaps?
So, what's Eric Holder been up to lately?
Here's the first article I've seen about it. On NPR.
