The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U. S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.
Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U. S. Department of the Interior, asks us "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."
I notice the picture of Jason the freeloader showed that he has an extremely large nose. I suspect that is because air is free for the time being. We may have to pay for it at some point, but Jason and other scum like him will try to hide their noses before they pay up.

John Chittick is right. The entire welfare state has been designed to increase dependency for several decades. They don't call it 'Welfare Wednesday' in BC for no reason. In the off-season it was the busiest day of our month at our convenience store. Tobacco, lottery and junk food sales jumped for two days. It certainly brought home to me how a hugh part of the population cannot self restrain or plan for future needs. Many actually think they are living a viable lifestyle.
Why is anybody complaining about this? Your impotent pissing and moaning is very annoying, followed as it inevitably will be, by a retreat and complete retraction and humiliating apology.
The strategy of the left for the past 100 years has been to give things away to buy votes. This works, because once you get an addict hooked, they will vote for you, and teach their children and grandchildren to vote for you, to keep that gravy train rolling. Every give away, creates a brand new dependence group that will blindly vote for more left wing policy for the rest of time.
The strategy of the right has been to cower and run away when anybody accuses them of wanting to take anything away from any of the client/victim groups of the left. They never cut anything, fearing the anger of people who never have, and never will vote for them.
Thus we see how a permanent left wing ruling coalition is built.
