About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

I used to laugh at these losers until one of them was voted president. Now it's not so funny anymore.
I have no end of admiration for Ezra Levant. His energy level has to be way up there to continue the campaigns he does. The country owes him a great Thankyou!
Fun, fun, fun!
He's brave to wade into the Sea of Crazy.
Ezra marches in where angels fear to tread - and gets sneered at by the established "journalists" who write their stories from the security of an office tower. He is twice, or more, the journalist his critics are.
I like the one protester who just screams long and loud.Ezra compliments her, "now, that's articulate".
How many in that bunch were/are gainfully employed?
I'm watching it now and man, is Ezra on fire!
Define "gainfully". They get money from universities, unions and NGOs who in turn get money from taxpayers, Eurotrash, Saudis and people like George Soros. You could napalm everyone involved and not notice anything of value missing.
Seems the total IQ of this lot approximates that of a Welsh carrot.
I'll be watching Mothercorpse tonight ( shudder) to see how they spin these lowlife basket cases as principled environmental activists.
They're right. We got along just fine for hundreds of years burning whale oil in our lamps to light our homes at night and burning trees for heat!
I would bet good money that there won't be a whisper about it. CBC Hamilton on the net has zip about the issue.
Bingo to Mark!
That was just disturbing. Nice to see the lazy, bum cops can't be bothered keep track of these thugs. They just put in their 8 hours or whatever and head home.
Initially this was puzzling - Welsh rabbit I know, not Welsh carrot; but then I found that the Welsh word for carrot is "moron"!! Very good!
"Gainfully" ,in my comment means "producing a commodity or offering a service that someone is willing to pay for" on the open market.
I don't consider welfare or government make-work projects or Unions supporting these guys "gainful", just tax dollars circling the drain.
Too many activists these days are welfare recipients and appear able-bodies.When did the welfare departments decide that looking for work was no longer a requirement for collecting the dole?
John! You just stood there John! I mean, you had a chance to say something, but you just stood there!
And...was that NDPiste I saw slinkin' away in the background?
My folks, who are 60 and still work full time, have recently become acutely aware of how many seemingly able-bodied people are on the dole. They're the most patriotic people I know but are saying things like "Canada is the greatest country in the world" less often.
People mindlessly yelling... yep... they fit right in on Sun.
Hey... you guys see this? Looks like the Arctic passage is opening up:
http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/05daa11e-0274-11e3-880d-00144feab7de.html#axzz2c6TjxLxj
But that can't be happening, because climate change is a hoax, amiright folks?!
And Max, the general trend of people on the dole has been on a downward trend... well until the birds finally came home to roost on GWB's watch, and the Conservatives came into office:
http://www2.macleans.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/unemp_rates_2012_08.png
Gee whiz! Ezra Levant discovers that the goofs who show up with the signs and other crap are freekin idiots.
As an aside ... the guy with that drum is kinda like the John who comments here eh?
I think John who comments/trolls mindlessly here is possibly one of the few leftists who is "gainfully" employed. I mean, those dicks don't suck themselves down at the bath houses of Toronto!
No John, Climate change is real - the climate really does change. The cliate changes (for better or worse) on the other planets as well without the aid of mankind. Has for eons before we got here - something leftards have just discovered - it's man made warming that is the hoax, it's CO2 as a pollutant/GHG that's a hoax - just as left wing clerisy and integrity is a hoax.
BTW why change the lexicon of AGW/GHG to "climate change" - these are not the same thing - unless the object is to disingenuously blur the difference to subvert the fact that AGW turned out to be a hoax which the hoaxers want to keep alive on life support so they can continue to milk the public narrative and cash in on the remaining fear mongering.
No wonder the climate change cult is full of fools and liars.
Where do you live, John, Australia?
It's August, John. August! Does the phrase 'Dog Days of Summer' ring a bell?
How about the word 'seasons', hear any Jeopardy music?
When the Arctic Passage is open at the end of January you be sure to tell us, m'kay?
John is being disingenuous with his links. The Northeast Passage from its first traverse in 1847 has been relatively easy compared to the Canadian route through the Arctic.
"The longer Northeast Passage, at approximately 5,400km, has the advantage of offering a relatively straight journey over the top of the Eurasian landmass. Its shorter North American rival, by contrast, twists and turns through narrow, dangerous channels in the Canadian Arctic. The Northwest Passage claimed the life of explorer Sir John Franklin and the crews of his two ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, in 1847"
"John is being disingenuous with his links. The Northeast Passage from its first traverse in 1847 has been relatively easy compared to the Canadian route through the Arctic."
So... I guess the reason commercial shipping hasn't used it till now is because they didn't know it was there? They liked spending the extra money?
It's funny watching you guys twist. Some of you say "oh hey, of course the climate is changing!!!" Even though this blog and many on it desperately claim that it's not getting warmer. Other's, like yourself pull treasures this out of your bum. Yes... it has been possible to traverse the Arctic, but usually just with icebreakers. The point of this article is that they expect actual commercial shipping to begin using it because there is less and less ice there each year. Which points to a warmer Arctic, which points to... climate change.
I'm not here to troll you guys. I'm hear to spray a bit of cold water on your little rightwing circle jerk.
Climate change is real.
It's just had the breaks locked on for 15 years....
Addressing the substance of your "arguments" hasn't been, isn't and never will be worthwhile. You really are the Chris Matthews of SDA trolls. And what you do around here is more like pissing on an electric fence.
John. Did you even read the link you provided.
Russian authorities have granted 372 permits this year...
But analysts caution that it will be years before the route, which is only passable for a few months, is commercially viable let alone a rival to the Suez Canal, which handled more than 17,000 ships in 2012.
Read about this route. All it will take for the bloom to shrivel on this project is a year where ships are heavily damaged by the ice. You realize John that there is still ice in the Arctic.
I did Nold.
4 permits in 2010
46 in 2012
372 in 2013
That is what is called a "trend".
And that's because soon there will be a good many months of ice free ocean. It will probably never rival the Suez for traffic, because it will be closed 8 months of the year, but you can bet that summers will be a busy place (for better or worse), by 2030.
The reason... because the Arctic is melting. Something you guys just won't admit. You'll probably still doubt it when you're actually receiving goods travelling this route. No shock. You believe guys like Ezra who was once a lobbyist for the tobacco industry. What a surprise that is... he left one pack of despicable liars who spent years muddying the waters regarding the health impact of smoking for another which is spending millions splitting hairs on the climate debate.
John. All it takes is a season where the ships incur extensive damage to their hulls from the ice and guess what; reluctant insurance companies will not underwrite ships using the so-called ice-free Northeast Arctic passage. Strong northerlies forcing the ice against the continent will put a stop to this little experiment.
As I said... You guys will continue to deny climate change even when these ships are delivering you your Chinese knock-off Real Dolls via the northeast passage. There won't be any ice. These companies know that. This is why they are preparing.
