B.C = "Bring Cash"

Gotta pay for those Olympics somehow.

Just pretend you're trying to save the planet and ... voila.

That's Translink for you...a cadre of socialist dummies who couldn't pour p!ss out of a boot if the instructions were printed on the heel, and who figure it's A-OK to provide transit for the masses on the backs of working motorists.

That's what Europe does, why expect anything different from a liberal govt in BC?

I don't know - Vancouver has a good public transit system. As for comparisons with Europe, well, gasoline is expensive but beer and wine are cheap and good. And the public transportation systems are good as well.

You can see this will be a fun event because the "protesters" included some no-mind mouth breather with "love" and "Hate" tattooed on his knuckles (like Bob Mitchum's psychopath character in night of the hunter)- The level of intellect in that group seems to approximate the IQ of a Welsh carrot - all in all should be like watching a cat play with mice. I'll tune in.

BC's energy policy couldn't be more Fed UP if it were designed by a demented fruit fly counter - come to think of it, it probably was.

You're not wrong, but Edward Teach notes why the costs are so high.

Go search Mission BC (just beyond Translink jurisdiction) on gas buddy and you will find the gas is 13 cents/litre cheaper (approx. 10%). Of course Translink wants even more as they seem incapable of collecting fares on any regular basis.

Lets face it if you live in BC, you live in a high taxation community, if you live in Metro Vancouver you live in an insanely taxed community. Then again try to introduce some industry to off-set taxes and the watermelons will protest against it. Like many I do my best to buy all my diesel in the USA, screw Translink they already steal enough off me on my Hydro bill.

Vancouver's road network is the worst in North America and it's emblematic of the whole retarded province.

That's why the carbon tax is so unfair. Nobody in Vancouver with a brain pays that crap, only the rest of the damn province. That nincompoop in the premier's office said recently "it's about time that someone from outside of Vancouver is finally premier..." as she was on her way to the Kelowna airport for her flight back home to Vancouver. Vancouver is the problem. I vote they join Quebec.

There is no reason to fill up in the lower mainland with just a little planning. Hope, BC. has reasonable prices (for the region) and of course just across the border you can fill up for about $4 US, (just guessing) but that would be about $1.05 a liter. The $1.44 a liter equates to about $5.50 per US gallon - well worth the trip across the border. Hey, the locals vote with their feet, why don't the tourists? The US merchants are happy to have the business. Also, there is a beautiful ferry ride out of Anacortez, just west from Mout Vernon if you are headed for the island. Leaves at about 8 AM daily.

That reminds me of the silly people who drive around wasting gas looking for the cheapest station.

My actual fuel cost is about half the pump price since I make some of the fuel I use from used fryer oil. That's a much more significant savings than driving miles to save a few bucks.

60 - if you can avoid the congestion in the lower-mainland by going south a few miles you are even further ahead. Sitting in a traffic line-up only increases the price. Know what I mean?
Regarding the fryer oil, make sure you keep a good fuel filter close.

I've been using fryer oil fuel for about 7 years. The key to successful use is correct processing and removing ALL water. People who use a lot of filters are not doing it right. My trucks fuel filters last for years without clogging.

BC really means the Province of British Columbia, Canada. The Bring Cash is a sarcastic referral about the crappy environmental, tree hugger, anti development, anti business left tard mentality of the population and their politician puppets. This makes BC a poor, cheap slave job province compared to Alberta (AB), Saskatchewan (SK), Ontario (ON), and others who have more brains to make money and have wealthier citizens. The BC capital city Victoria BC is probably one of the most uptight, cliquey, restricted city metros in all of Canada. You will have no job, no money, no friends, no amusements, and probably end up a cheap wage slave worker. That is why BC, bring cash and your own friends with you. You will not find any there. Why bother to settle in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada? Beneath the shiny marketing propaganda, the metro region is a horrible place to live long term. The social culture, job market, economy is cliquey, limited, and limiting. Besides the weather, everything else is bad. Unfortunately, nice weather alone does not pay the bills or achieve your financial goals. You can apply to 500-1000 jobs and not get hired for years. College and university educated are forced to work high school jobs just to survive. High school students are completely jobless by being last in line.
