About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

Kerry has called the violence "deplorable".
One the Prez is finished with his well-earned vacation, he will undoubtedly call the violence "unacceptable", and the whole world ,with the exception of the Muslims, will nod it's head and agree, "yes, yes, totally unacceptable".
If only Chamberlain had had the courage to call the early actions of Hitler,"unacceptable".
Make no mistake about it - if the MB wins this battle - it will have profound impact on the future of the ME/North Africa. Probably more so than losing Iran to the crazies in 79. And 50 bucks says Barry is secretly hoping it continues to spiral out of control and the MB eventually wins. He in fact wishes to surpass Jimmy Carter's foreign policy - er - "achievements". "Chickens coming home to roost" and all as per his preacher of 2 decades.
This may be a little crass, but the Egyptians in the demonstrations who are dying in droves are the ones any freedom loving person would hope would die in droves. We are not talking about the Copts who have been targeted by those who are dying in droves, but the ones who take over the election process and then persecute those who disagree with their aims to install a muslim theocracy and thereby end elections.
I hope both sides lose.
yuppers, and the real tragedy here is that there were ONLY about 500 dead
and to those who keep whining about the copt kristians, they ain't much better than the mozzies. Fact is that that incompetent lefty jackass that over saw the murder of 500-800 thousand Rawandans was a copt kristian
Getting rid of Mubarak has once again shown how our meddling pays dividends.
Yeah, I think I get it - one copt ‘kristian’ was a homicidal maniac therefore all are.
“yuppers, and the real tragedy here is that there were ONLY about 500 dead”
You see the irony here?
I have never heard of any organized terrorism by the copts. Please enlighten me. A UN appointee screwed up Rwanda, his religion is not material.
Do you ever get tired of being a total twit (and one who can't use Spell Check at that)?
Why would Obama care? It's not like he is a powerhouse or anything. Nevertheless, as long as somewhere there is an Islamist calling the shots, he is comfortable. He will not let anything but anything interrupt his golf games.
Kerry is just as useless.
Well put. My only emendation would be "Muslim thugocracy" rather than "Muslim theocracy" but that is a detail. These are also the people that Hosni Mubarak sensibly kept in jails. And if the army reasserts itself, that's where the survivors will be going.
Massive blunder by the Egyptian military. Aside from cutting aid, there's not much for the USG to do here.
.
Obama = Fool
Middle East = Insanity
Great entertainment and the upside is we can look forward to much more of muslims killing muslims.
It is apparent that muslims have a NEED to kill, better they keep that need in-house than bringing it here ... wouldn't you say? So ... Mr Harper ... will you stop letting them in puleeze?
> While Obama golfs, Kerry lectures, Egyptians die in droves.
I'll call that 'best outcome'.
Hope the Egyptian military stays on the offensive and just kills the MB until they are wiped out. You see the same thing happening in Syria where the rebels turn on the Christians and other non-muslims.
I have said this before but no answer. Why is the Captcha so hard to read? Don't understand why if we have to enter these characters they are not clearly legible.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-23717841
I was wrong. Obama has "strongly condemned" the action in Egypt, but not once did he use the word "unacceptable".
What a leader! What a statesman!
The people being killed by the military are quite willing to kill me, or more closely, Christians in Egypt. I can only cheer. Maybe the Coppt-killer's enemies are not nice people, but the Islamists are losing. So, that's good.
If you lived in the shit societies of the mid-east, you might also feel an urge to kill someone, anyone.
The result of 1400 years of islam.
smithy me boy, boutrus gali was and Egyptian kopt, and head of the UN at the time, and was warned, kofi anon was head of the African file at the time, both incompetent lefties. the thing is kristian get a blanket pass in here, but if you speak to ppl who are from the middle eat you will find that they are similar in behavior to the muzzies, just fewer in numbers. also the terrorist that hijacked the usa airliner in Beirut in 1972 and killed the only American jew he could identify was both a medical doctor and a kristian. As a friend of mine once said, she is lebanese heritage, Canadian born, that she would never marry any man from the middle east as they are all the same, even the kristians, which she herself is. the blanket all kristians good, all jews good, all muslims bad gets a little much after a while.
osumashi, if twit is how YOU see me, then no, I won't get tired of it. I like when jackasses like you behave like the lefties you like to critisize all the time. Butt keep at it, as U and some of the other bible thumpers are entertaining
This is being reported as Egyptian Army firing on unarmed crowds of innocent "protesters". As if they were all in some kind of OWS demonstration, and the crazy Army dudes just lit 'em up with belt-fed machine guns. That's what I'm reading in the US media today.
I find this as likely to be true as the early reporting on Benghazi. We are not merely being uninformed by the media, we are being actively DIS-informed.
So any opinions based on what's floating around in the media are as valid as the opinions regarding Ambassador Stevens were.
The video and all available evidence corroborate the claim that the Egyptian army carried out an entirely unjustified massacre. I'd ask you for counter-evidence, but I know better.
If they are Morsi supporters, who cares.
If they are Morsi supporter, they are jihadi's.. They are Stupid" muslim's willing to carry bombs on their bodies to kill innocent people. So, strike them down.
Can't remember where I saw this, but I saw videos of Morsi people on doing medical pics that were just setups. It was funny until I saw some of that today. Same crap that earned them so many creds in Israel.. Lying scum.. Keep shooting troops.
It seems several police or military were killed, raising questions about how peaceful the crowds were. Are they protesting as in demanding another election or an armed threat? The MBs seemed to be enabling violence when in power so it's very doubtful that they're a lot of lambs pushed into a battle.
Obama was definitely wrong to describe the thing as a military coup after literally half the country were in the streets. Anyone who agreed he was ludicrously naive to call that an illegitimate coup in a country with it's first ever election shouldn't be turning around and saying the 'coup' he opposed is now on him though. That's a little Obama derangement syndrome for my taste.
Yeah well, there are confirmed reports these "peaceful demonstrators shot (killed) a whack of police etc and foreign "journalists".
The resulting gunfight and body count shows that terrorists versus the Eygptian military is a "hares/lions" gig.
Shooting at Eygptian soldiers is a real Darwin Award move...much riskier than throwing rocks at the IDF.
Uh there's no doubt in the world that it was a military coup. There's nothing wrong with a military coup in these circumstances.
If they are Morsi supporter, they are jihadi's.. They are Stupid" muslim's willing to carry bombs on their bodies to kill innocent people. So, strike them down.
There are options for freedom-hating psycho mongrels like yourself. Therapy, or cyanide.
I'm sorry. Can you please re-type that. I have such trouble deciphering such terrible grammar and spelling.
LAS, if you are going to attempt to pick winners in this, do so in Tahrir Square.
"if I had a riot it would look like Egypt " Barraq Obama
ps / look up barraq in wikipedia=====horses what?
Apparently I was wrong, or at least I just read some New Republic article that criticized Obama for not using the word 'coup'. It seems a lot of Egyptians are ticked off at him so I assumed he had. Weirdly I read that MB retaliations hit a lot of Coptic targets - getting their licks in while they can is the best I can come up with to that.
-"Aside from cutting aid, there's not much for the USG to do here."
~LAS
The U.S. aid is America's part as a guarantor of the Egyptian/Israeli Peace Treaty.
The last time America shirked it's part of such a treaty(Treaty of Versailles) it led to the German occupation of Poland and WWII.
-"the Egyptian army carried out an entirely unjustified massacre"
~LAS
Hosni Mubarak was seguing into a more inclusive society when he made the error of decriminalizing the Muslim Brotherhood.
(they were illegal because they assassinated Egypt's President Anwar Sadat)
The Egyptian Army was treating them as the religion based organized crime syndicate that the are universally known to be over there.
No it isn't a problem being a devout Muslim in Egypt, but if you're going to join an organization which has attempted to overthrow the government on several occasions and carried out a bloody assassination of the President, yes that's a problem worth shooting at.
The head of al-Qaeda and mastermind of that organization from the beginning, Ayman al-Zawahiri, joined the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood at age 14, and along with four other secondary school students helped form an underground cell devoted to overthrowing the government and establishing an Islamist state.
His cell eventually merged with others to form al-Jihad or Egyptian Islamic Jihad.
The Egyptian Army is well aware of the track record of the criminal syndicate known as the Muslim Brotherhood.
It needs to be mentioned that this crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood happened within 24 hours of "militants" firing missiles into Israel from the Sinai.
http://www.foxnews.com/world/2013/08/13/sinai-missiles-rain-down-on-israeli-city-prompting-fears-new-front/
The Sinai is a demilitarized zone and considering the mess Egypt's economy is in the Egyptian military is keen to maintain their Peace Treaty with Israel.
I agree with Sarah Palin. I think the west should leave all middle East countries and let Allah sort it out.
Nature abhors a vacuum.
Imagine Russia filling the power vacuum left by such short sighted foreign policy, if you can.
Imagine the middle east degenerating into a massive dog fight for decades and Russia takes over Europe because it alone can supply Europe's carbon energy needs.
So much for the Cold War that the West bankrupted itself to fight since WWII, eh?
Or how about this, Israel uses nuclear weapons to defend itself and it spirals out of control into a global conflagration.

The best comment yet!
The only thing the west needs to do is cut off ALL funding, Visa's, and immigration, kick out all the noncitizen malcontents and then sit back and wait.
They will fold, it's their cultural disposition to once they understand that the handouts are no longer forthcoming. Of course they will kill each other in droves for awhile, at the end of the day it's up to us whether or not we TRADE with the winners.
