PETA, considered by many to be the highest-profile animal rights group in the country, kills an average of about 2,000 dogs and cats each year at its animal shelter here.
And the shelter does few adoptions — 19 cats and dogs in 2012 and 24 in 2011, according to state records.
Of course they kill them – the ultimate goal of PETA (and HSUS) is the eradication of domestic animals from human society. That’s why “emotional pain” is cited as criteria for euthanasia.

This bears repeating as much as possible until it sinks into the collective public consciousness. PETA(and their organizational wing ASPCA) and other radical anti-social ideological lobbies, are not about animal welfare/protection or higher morality or most of their stated raison d’être – they are well funded organization which both government and private interests use to CONTROL society. The end result of all the so-called morally superior doctrines of these sub-culture organizations is law which erases civil and personal rights/freedoms/liberty.
It has always been a crime to abuse livestock – sufficient criminal penalties exist for it – why do we need all these superfluous laws/bylaws/regulation of our property (yes, animals are not “persons” in law they are property – as wildlife is public property which carries certain ethical trusts and responsibilities). Because cold, calculating technocrats know that Moonbats like PETA and other statist collectivist lobbies, enable them to craft law that CONVERTS personal property to government hands/stewardship/control – yes that includes food and livestock used for food – this is a back door entry for government (globalist) control of the food supply – and it all starts with “personifying” animals in law, – once that is accomplished, not just your house cat but your dairy herd or chicken operation become wards of the state and their use and control will be at the whim of misanthropic technocrats.

So what happens to the animal carcasses after they’re done? That’s a lot of meat going to waste. Do they donate it to food banks and soup kitchens?
I’m sure Chinese, or Korean, restaurants would be happy to get the windfall.
I think though that PETA would charge them for contributions.
