  1. Saskatchewan Bacon Festival…good name and sounds like a good time… ‘course calling it “Little Bacon Rind on the Prairie” could also work out well… CBC deadheads could explode!!
    You think?

  2. Pretty sure that some muzzie will be calling the HRC regarding this culturally insensitive event…

  3. Good for them. Kipling is named after the famous Rudyard and world renowned for the planet’s largest paper clip, proudly displayed in Bell Park. At least when they’re bored they don’t work on making new stupid rules and regulations. The subject probably came up as ” how can we hold a good ol’ festival without a lot of Muslims showing up”.
Aha…..bacon….the tasty answer to so many problems.

  4. Aren’t the good folks down at the Kipling Mosque somewhat offended by this?
Here in B.C., we have Pride parades and “meatless Mondays”,while you guys celebrate the noble hog.
Hm, what are the Winters like in Kipling? Does it ever get below zero?
Oh yeah, do they have a hockey team?

  5. Pigs are the vacuum cleaners of the earth, store the poisons in their fat. Not much different than eating a vulture.
Apparently some researchers have found that the best medium to grow cancer cells in is pig fat.

  6. Take a pass on that, the bacon I make myself is leaner and chem-/antibiotic free – double smoked and cured with a local maple sugar rub.

  7. No doubt there will be free viewings of John Candy in that great film “Canadian Bacon”…

  8. HEY! If that bacon ain’t wrapped around a rib eye,in a turkey at Christmas,I call racist! (sorry, channeling LAS there for a sec).
Now a nice smoked kipper wrapped in bacon, yummers.

  9. If you have a chance to take in the farmers market at Invermere BC try the bacon jam or the bacon wrapped in bread dough baked in an oven. That’s good eatin.

  10. Strad, couldn’t agree with you more.
Can’t eat the stuff. My body rejects it, I feel like I have the flu or been on a bender whenever I eat pork.
Easier to stay away and feel healthy. The mass livestock operations have created a very toxic chemical pie wherever they exist. In the communities where they slaughter the hogs, MRSA(the superbug) is now jumping right into the workers at an alarming rate, up to 10 times the rate of transmission than normal channels. That is what my MD warned me about, and solidified my case regarding pork.
But, there still won’t be any Muslims at this festival. One way to clear a room…; )
