From someone in the comments, “If only Stalin knew”. This was the thought of millions of Russians arrested during Stalin’s reign, as they thought they had somehow been arrested by mistake and Stalin would correct this error if only he could be made aware of it. I have read this expression countless times in the various books I have about the Bolshevik/Communist years, particularly during the Stalinist regime.
That’s really chilling. Wow. That the cult of personality can be such a powerful tool . . .
Obama has not done a single positive thing since being elected. Everything is worse whether it’s the economy, individual freedom, employment , international relations , the sinking remnants of the middle class or his promise of hope and change. Yet through it all his followers continue to wear blinders and make excuses for a man who could have been the inspiration for the tale of the pied piper. There are many parallels here between him, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao, Mugabe, Kim(s) and the many other Dictators that grace the pages of history. They all promised a better future. Their mantra was always “Forward”. They all turned on their own citizens when their vision of utopia was not shared by all. First eliminate the ability to defend, then eliminate freedom of the press, then individual purges followed by mass purges. Once the “useful idiots” (think professors and lefty educators) had served their purpose they were also eliminated. Educated and influential people could become dangerous if the brainwashing wears down. Many regulars on SDA know more than I and have in depth knowledge greater than mine, but we all have one thing in common. We studied history and are aware of the warning signs as they always repeat in the same pattern. We are now on the road to allowing the same pattern to evolve once again. Even worse, the history lessons that could avoid the same trap are no longer being taught. We will all pay the price for that.
Bingo.
We have the benefit of hindsight to know what Obama’s actions mean and what their results are. The Teflon Don-in-Chief still holds sway with those who’ve bathed in the Kool-Aid but those numbers are whittling down. That people cannot believe that these scandals are the result of Obama’s actions but are starting to question him are as timely as the “true believer” en route to Siberia- too late.
