This woman has no business saying anything, at all. Her establishment style blindly sycophantic advocacy of Romney perfectly illustrates why his candidacy was destined to fail. There is no difference between her and the average Obot.

Even more distasteful is the irony that the very subject at hand (IRS persecution of conservative organizations)began with a better candidate to run against Obama. A candidate she did her very best to discredit, Newt Gingrich. For it was his use of some materials generated at GOPAC in coursework for "Renewing American Civilization" under 501(c)3 nonprofit status that was the subject of a long battle with the IRS.

This was one of the 84 ethics charges (none stuck)leveled at Gingrich partially as vengeance for the removal of the seriously corrupt Speaker Jim Wright and partially a revolution within the GOP. This is how we wound up with Boehner and Milquetoast Mittens.

If Gingrich was the nominee, it is fair to say that NPR and the Annenberg CPB Corporation would be the ones facing legitimate IRS scrutiny. Instead we get the highly establishment oriented selective memory of Rubin ..."If it really is the career service people in the IRS and elsewhere, it’s odd because we haven’t had an outbreak of such problems since the Nixon era."
Pure crap. Her own article sights IRS abuse. "[I]n 2009, COMMENTARY (a non-profit) received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service threatening the revocation of the institution’s standing as a non-profit due to a claim that on our website we had crossed the line in the 2008 election..." AND she has conveniently forgotten Gingrich's pioneering ordeal in 1997.

This stuff isn't fresh. It just suits a pen slut like Rubin to attempt narrative in the same manner as her liberal counterparts. The IRS has been used as a partisan weapon of the left for quite some time. This should be of no surprise to any reader here. Perhaps something can be done this time, but I have my doubts given the absence of competent honest leadership.

Denying or delaying tax exempt status to conservative groups during the election would have certainly hindered these groups in their participation in support of Romney, maybe even tipping the scales to the Democrat side and directly influencing the outcome of the election. That is an angle to this story that would grow legs if the decision was political based from the Obama admin. The US is a banana republic.

I read somewhere that the IRS has mechanisms in place should there ever be a nuclear holocaust.

If that is true, this should be no surprise coming from the soulless bunch at the IRS.

Long ago, my grandfather worked for the IRS in Cincinnati. His work contributed to busting Al Capone. Coming from a family with a tradition of voting for Democrats, he took heat from his brother-in-law upon learning that my grandfather voted against Roosevelt. Granddad's reply was "It's the American Dream, Claude. Roosevelt's a Socialist."

When the commies run things every institution is politicized and used as partisan weapon against political enemies. in this case the IRS. The real answer of course is to openly get these scum to admit they are defacto anti-American, unconstitutional commie scum, not Democrats, them proceed to indict them for malfeasant crimes and then vote them back to the stone age and never allow another career commie get near the levers of pubic policy making - but I think the LIV American hasn't had enough punishment from rogue soviet-styled government to wise up/rise up yet - and so it continues.
