Those who claim to be "one with nature" have been surprised by spring floods yet again. Every winter the cold sneaks up on them ,every spring the rising water does the same.

Chief Spence, the inspirational leader of the left and darling of most media,is MIA. I think that she may be gone for good. Politics is a bloodsport, especially at the reserve level. CBC and the left may "throw her under the bus",others will throw her under a train. While she was in Ottawa gladhanding with her new friends, the band members were simmering.
Then again, she may just be taking an extended vacation at her condo.

"The latest IRS scandal is getting worse — and the official watchdog’s report hasn’t even been released yet. Today we learned that the same IRS office that admitted to targeting Tea Party groups for extra scrutiny also released confidential documents from several conservative groups to “independent” (that is, liberal) news organization ProPublica.

Confidential information from groups like Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS made it into the hands of ProPublica late last year, and now ProPublica reports that the IRS’ Cincinnati office was the source of the documents. “No unapproved applications from liberal groups were sent to ProPublica,” ...

Re: Always.

Great tune. Great for a rainy night. Thanks!

If you think a mother has the right to abort/kill her baby on the way to the hospital delivery room in a Canadian legally sanctioned 'late term abortion', but should be charged for smoking in the car with the baby on the way home, you may be a 'progressive'.

"US windfarms avoiding prosecution for eagle deaths"

"Associated Press"

"More than 83,000 hunting birds are killed by windfarms each year but no wind energy company has been fined"

"The Obama administration has never fined or prosecuted a windfarm for killing eagles and other protected bird species, shielding the industry from liability and helping keep the scope of the deaths secret, an Associated Press investigation has found.

More than 573,000 birds are killed by the country's windfarms each year, including 83,000 hunting birds such as hawks, falcons and eagles, according to an estimate published in March in the peer-reviewed Wildlife Society Bulletin.

Each death is federal crime, a charge that the Obama administration has used to prosecute oil companies when birds drown in their waste pits, and power companies when birds are electrocuted by their power lines. No wind energy company has been prosecuted, even those that repeatedly flout the law.

Wind power, a pollution-free energy intended to ease global warming, is a cornerstone of President Barack Obama's energy plan. His administration has championed a $1bn-a-year tax break to the industry that has nearly doubled the amount of wind power in his first term."

"April Global Temperatures

May 14, 2013

Temperatures have dropped sharply since Sep/Oct last year, when they peaked after the small El Nino, despite neutral conditions since.

12-month running averages are likely to fall over the next few months as these higher temperatures are taken out of the system.

The drop in April, is wholly limited to the Northern Hemisphere, on GISS figures, which have dropped 0.17C since March. The last time the annual GISS anomaly for the NH was as low as the current 0.61C was in 2000.

The GISS map below, showing temperature anomalies for April against the 2001-10 average, illustrates just how far temperatures have dropped."

Those apologists who seek to excuse such acts as the Boston bombing might want to read this:

"And contrary to the populist view that economic hardship leads to radicalization, the report says researchers in the area seem unequivocal in their conclusion that there is no link between economic factors and radicalization, and that many radicals are, in fact, economically advantaged compared to others in their communities.)

A tip for Ontarians and other Liberal loving tree-huggers everywhere, especially those who worship at the altar of renewal energy. Nova Corporation of Corunna Ontario has plans to build a new One Billion Dollar facility. The Corunna site was their first choice until it was determined that the US Gulf Coast offered an attractive alternative. Why? Well it's because the electricity rates in Ontario cannot match those in the USA. Ontario has the highest rates in North America.
Thank you McGuinty for the destruction of Ontario's manufacturing sector.

In the past few months there's been some reportage on how the US housing market is in recovery, while a close look at the graphs indicating this recovery show the reality is that while housing starts are "up" by a few thousands over recent months, they're down in the past 4 years by hundreds of thousands.

If the current recovery is going to be real, you'd think that lumber futures would indicate this...

Billy Sol Estes is dead at 88.
For those of you of my age and political interest of that time you will remember him as a thorn in the side of the Kennedy and Johnson administrations.
