"No Visitors, No Auditors"

A secretive course at Queen's University;

Imagine you'd enrolled in an undergraduate course last fall called "Jewish Women in Historical Perspective" at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. If you thought you would be learning about notable Jewish women like Ruth and Esther from the Bible through to authors like Emma Lazarus and Gertrude Stein, and renowned public figures like Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Bella Abzug and their influence on the wider world, you could be in for a big surprise.

The word "Jew" is your first clue.

So, when do we get to see the balanced and fair MSM doing an article on this story?

Who, at the top of the feeding chain at Queens, looked over the syllabus and approved such a course and its speakers and gave their blessings?

The York Regional Police, maybe?

I recall a more civilized and enlightened time in Canada where closet antisemitic Jew baiters like this would be exposed, roundly condemned by the community and media and rightfully marginalized and discounted.

Note that I have NOT said they would be impoverished and legally oppressed by PC lawfare, or dragged to some PC star chamber show trial where their legal rights were ignored or charged under some nebulous PC "hate" crime. No, we were far more civil in those days and we realized that legally/politically oppressing even the vilest ideologies in our society only weakened our own freedoms. It was enough to see the ring leaders fired and branded as antisemitic scum - good luck getting work with that brand of shame on your cheek - particularly when the bulk of society was repulsed by truly repulsive bigotry - unlike today where PC identity police use bigotry to fight bigotry, essentially expanding the amount of prejudice and injustice we must endure.

But hoping for any true social justice in a era of schizophrenic identity politics enforcement is asking too much. Society will have to suffer the oppression and injustice inherent in morality legislating before they realize they lost civility along with their freedom.

If there were some Queens alumni with sense, this vicious little course might be dealt with though some phone calls, but so far Queens seem to be showing little sense. It seems to be heading for a club with places like Concordia and York where anti-Israel and anti-jewish voices are able to shout down their opposition.

I wonder what the enrollment will be for this thing.

They are hiding for a reason. They are afraid of something - or someone.

Perhaps they want to hide the students' identity.

Bastards. Education funding needs to be severely cut, we're paying billions for this crap.

One wonders if Lil' Ricky from the York Regional Place will be driving up the 401 to attend these classes of "higher learning"?!?

Queen's had no shortage of jew-haters from the Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal zone of Canada.

There's only two things that scare alumni from Queen's, a drop in the MacLeans rankings, or their kid not getting in.

Any Jews taking the course?? Or is the title a smoke screen so anti-semites can meet in private and spew their venom against Jews?

Queen's is my alma mater and a great school. But it was infested with political correctness when I was there, the kind of 'everything is about race' leftist political correctness you see elsewhere. Most normal people ignored it, but it was difficult to ignore, because the student councils, newspaper, and the politically-oriented student organizations were infested with it. So, while I continue to have great respect for the school, at the same time I'm not surprised that this type of thing happens there.
However, I certainly would not say it goes so far as Carleton, Concordia or York, the current leaders in Jew-bashing. That's my two cents about Queen's. I wish Canada's universities had remained schools, where learning was the objective, not politics or cultural indoctrination.

I agree with cutting funding, but the geniouses that run these places including the provincial politicians and other civil servants would likely keep this crap and cut science, math and engineering programs.

The current Principal of Queen's, Daniel Woolf, earned his credentials in history, but has certainly moved on to a specialization in the field of anodyne university administration, with all of the Globe & Mail approved attitudes and postures. Students committed to educational values need to register for this course and, even without the use of cell phones, use traditional means to let the world know what Queen's has come to.

abide by the following:
-no recording
-no cells, Internet, texting
-no visitors, no auditors.

(Bugs Life) Academia are so afraid of exposures,
its like watching a nest of cockroaches scatter when the light hits them.

Lessons in conformity are available for $xxx,000/years at Canadian Universities.
The lessons of reality are available, as ever, in the school of hard knocks.
University graduates do not function well in reality, hence their lust for government positions or regulations demanding their papers.
We are living, in the best times ever, based on our history.
We have never had it so good, living fat and lazy.
Yet the indoctrinators are insisting we should feel guilty for enjoying the fruits of our organizational and technological skills.
Skills they lack, I want these 5th columnists hived off into communities of their own, I want to see if they could survive without a host of working people to leech off of.
Of course these "educators" hate Israel, first its a can do country.Second its traditional for freeloaders to set the Jews up as scapegoats.
Actually right here is the odd affinity between academia and the rabid muslins, lazy, disorganized, useless people whose hatred for other, better off(because they work for it) people knows no bounds. They believe they are entitled to take from the productive,as they are special.
I prefer bandits, at least they are honest.

Occam at 9:52; thank you for your comments. But as the non-Jew in a non tradition Jew/Gentile marriage of 50 years, our three children would still be consider a Jew in a "jack boot" society, I will always be more comfortable if the often misused descriptive word, schizophrenic, was avoided. Sorry if this is coming across as a "politically correct comment. Cheers;

Shame on them. Kingston has always had a thriving vibrant Jewish community that has contributed a great deal to the community at large. They have the respect of everyone who grew up in the city which is most likely why this course is being kept under the radar. The Kingston paper needs to jump on this story.

Somebody in Kingston needs to sic the HRC on the college AND some senior INDIVIDUALS there, because as others have often noted "their process IS the punishment."

A lot of gasoline and kindling will sort this problem out quickly. This is no longer an insitution of learning. It is an indoctrination center to teach hatred and class warfare. Burn it down!

The Whig-Standard? Are you kidding? It's only slightly to the left of the Red Star. The Whig-Standard is notoriously a place where reporters fled when things got too hot for them at One Yonge Street.

"Truths or facts as labels are misleading to understand complex situations. ‘Even handed’ and ‘balanced’ for X may not be acceptable to Y. The important learning event happens in dialogue."

This sounds like it was was written by someone employed in the canadian justice system.

I'd laugh if someone recorded 100% of this learning event and uploaded the full nuance to Youtube in 13 weeks.
... more so if Youtube considered it "hate speech" or offensive.

Yes, I know the Whig is a Liberal rag in a Liberal city.
And Queen's is a powerhouse in the city.
But, individuals can submit articles. My friend has done it often.

How could Queens not be embarrassed by this nonsense? This course is truly Orwellian. Other professors (and students) at this institution should be outraged by this deliberate attempt at obfuscation and manipulation.

Yes but as good little conformists, the silence will have to speak for them instead.

So what yer sayin' is Jim Keegstra's great sin wasn't what he taught but that he was teachin' high school and not univarsity.

Why do universities throw away their good reputations with such trashy "courses"?

We saw U of T do it a few years ago with the infamous anti-Israel thesis.

Isn't there a school policy against classroom secretiveness?

We definitely have the right not to have our tax dollars pay for garbage like this.
